a method for dealing with garbage is obtaining the financial resources to do so. Managing urban waste is one of the most expensive municipal services. Some regions in the United Kingdom are even encouraging residents to compost their garbage in order to save on waste-transportation costs. Meanwhile, developing countries spend 20-40% of municipal revenues on handling garbage. Many great minds have explored the possibility of waste conversion, and some well-known schemes have already been in use for a number of years. However, the limitations of the complex systems or the factory-size facilities necessary for such operations have rendered the current schemes too costly or inefficient. There is a pressing demand for a waste conversion system that enables us not only to benefit the environment, but also to profit from it directly. 4. UTILIZING WASTE AS A COMMODITY Enter the Regreen Machine. It is compact, scalable, and continuously converts thousands of pounds of waste per hour into fertilizers and biofuel. The device accepts virtually any form of organic refuse, unlike other recycling machines limited to using only particular food products or wood chips. The Regreen Machine includes multiple stages that efficiently reduce the size of the waste, compress it and squeeze out its liquid, further pulverize the dehydrated content, and form pellets that are dried and cooled. These pellets can then be used as a fertilizer supplement and as a biofuel. This same machine also treats the liquid initially extracted from the waste, resulting in a product that could either be used as liquid fertilizer or sold to companies manufacturing biogases. In essence, nothing is wasted with the NTT Machine. It completes the waste-to-energy cycle. It transforms the dream of waste conversion and sustainable energy into a cleaner, greener reality. This configuration provides needed redundancy of operations as MSW material is processed simultaneously through separate groupings of equipment. We also size our system so that only 80% of capacity is required to process the tons of municipal solid waste received per-day. We use a 20-hour per-day operation of the equipment to allow 4 hours per day for cleaning/maintenance.

Each “line” of equipment is capable of processing 10 tons-per-hour (TPH), thus the lines have a capacity of 70 TPH. We project that the equivalent of 20 TPH will be delivered to the facility. Of that total, approximately 15% (10 tons) will be marketable recyclable material or inert debris removed by manual and mechanical sorting. Our pre-processing shredder and press will remove an addition 20% in liquid weight (12 tons). Thus the effective material delivered for processing into pellets will be approximately 58 TPH. Ideally we need a 5,000 square-foot of staging area, utilizing two or three push-walls would stage

incoming material. We would then need 30,000 additional square feet for the actual tipping area, ingress/egress, and safety/buffer zones. The waste processing equipment requires an additional 25,000 square feet, including safety/buffer zones (80,000 square feet total delivery and processing).The following drawing provides different views of the waste processing line configuration. As discussed, such lines of equipment will be producing pellets for the power generation system, with excess pellets sold to the international market. In combination with the power generation facility producing 120 megawatts under a $0.065 per kWh purchase contract, the facility will generate the following revenue.

MSW BASED POWER GENERATING SYSTEM CONFIGURATION EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

1. INTRODUCTION: The proposed Power Plant is on EPC basis is configured with 2x25 MW (Gross) Turbine –Generator set with Water cooled condenser & 100 TPH each Reciprocating Grate Boiler. This offer is prepared based on the following document SCOPE OF SUPPLY, WORK AND SERVICES: AN OVERVIEW BOILER & AUXILIARIES Two nos. 100 TPH Reciprocating Grate Boiler of 67 ata pressure and 465 ± 5°C SH temperature with firing system, draft Plant, Air & Flue Gas Ducting, Piping, refractories and insulations, ESP, Boiler feed pumps, Deaerator with storage tanks, chemical dosing& Blow down system etc. STEAM TURBINE & AUXILIARIES Two nos. 25 MW (Gross) Bleed cum Condensing Steam Turbine generator set with emergency stop valves, gland sealing system, bleed steam systems, all control & protection & monitoring devices, Turbine Lubricating & Control oil system equipment complete with oil storage tank, main and auxiliary oil pumps, emergency oil pump, oil purification unit and oil coolers. Water cooled Condenser with steam jet air evacuation system, Condensate Extraction pumps. POWER CYCLE PIPING Complete power cycle piping, fittings & valves as required for the boiler and steam turbine islands and connected systems up to Balance of Plants. BOP PACKAGE PLANT WATER SYSTEM We have designed the proposed water treatment considering the source as River Based on the assumed raw water source, we have envisaged the following scheme.

MGF + UF + RO +DG +MB plant for Boiler Makeup

1 x 3500 m3 Raw water cum fire water storage tank (RCC) shall be in customer scope.

2 nos. raw water transfer pumps

Boiler makeup shall be of 2x5 m3/hr. & cooling tower makeup shall be of 200 m3/Hr.

The water treatment plant shall be operated for 20 hours in a day with 4 hours’ regeneration.

One (1). Induced draft, counter flow cooling tower of capacity 8000 m³/hr. with RCC structure & water basin, FRP fan stack with PVC film type fill arrangement are considered.

No. of cell offered is Eight each cell capacity is 1550 m³/hr.

We have considered the design inlet wet bulb temperature 28 °C with a cooling range of 8 °C and an approach of 5 °C.

We have considered and 3 x 50% (2W + 1S) Horizontal centrifugal type main cooling water pumps and 2 x 100% (1W + 1S) Horizontal centrifugal type auxiliary cooling water pumps for the proposed power plant.

FUEL (MSW-PELLETS) HANDLING SYSTEM Fuel handling system has been designed for the capacity of 90 TPH which is designed to continuously cater fuel requirement of the proposed boiler. The fuel handling shall consist of the following

Open gantry shall be considered for belt conveyors with Single side walk way of width 750mm. ASH HANDLING SYSTEM We have considered submerged ash conveyor for furnace front ash/bottom ash for conveying of wet ash into carbon steel wet ash silo/ chute of 7.5 m³. We have considered mechanical ash handling system for the ash collected in economizer, Air heater and ESP ash hoppers. Continuously discharged through screw conveyor and transfer to common belt conveyor. The ash collected at these points will be let into RCC fly ash silo of capacity of 150 m³. OTHER MECHANICAL AUXILIARIES

We have considered one no. EOT crane (for alternator rotor maintenance) with capacity of 20 Tons.

We have considered 2x100% (1W+1S) Non-lubricated type reciprocating air compressor for Instrument air requirement. 1X100% refrigerant type air drier for instrument air requirement.

We have considered Packaged /Spilt type air conditioning system for DCS control room in our scope of supply.

We have considered potable fire extinguishers for power house buildings and MCC rooms and key locations & fire hydrant system for outdoor area.

We have considered exhaust type ventilation system in STG building for the following areas

- Cable cellar room (If applicable) -MCC room, VFD room, Battery & battery charger room. -TG Hall. -Toilets.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

2x25 MW Generator shall be connected to the proposed Power Plant 11 kV MV panel through 11 kV XLPE insulated aluminum cables.

The generated power shall be utilized by the Power Plant auxiliaries for catering in-house loads. The surplus power after delivering to power plant shall be then exported to EB grid. Further evacuation beyond 11 kV switch gear is in customer scope.

There shall be two nos. of 2 x 50%, 1250 kVA (11/0.433kV) Auxiliary Distribution transformers to feed the power plant LV loads that are connected to the 415 V LV system. These transformers shall receive power from the 11 kV MV bus.

Each LV Switchgear / Motor Control Centre (MCC) / Main Distribution Board (DB) shall have 1x100% incoming feeder. Sub Distribution Board shall have 1x100% Incomer distribution.

Common one no. 110V DC system shall be provided for proposed power plant for both TG and electrical DC auxiliaries (including switchyard) power supply purpose.

One no. of 75kVA, 440V/415V lighting transformer has been considered for CPP internal lighting purpose.

One no. of 415 V, 380 kVA emergency DG set shall be provided for proposed power plant emergency auxiliary power supply purpose.

CONTROL & INSTRUMENTATION (C&I) C&I including DCS comprising data acquisition sub-system, closed loop and open loop controls, data highways, gateways, Operator stations & Control device, Printers, & Engineering work station. Boiler, TG & BOP instruments, all junction’s boxes, Cubicles, enclosures, local panels, Marshalling panels & etc. Maintenance and calibration equipment. CIVIL WORKS Complete civil works including grouting, inserts and erection work is in client scope. However civil design, drawings and engineering is in ICL / Regreen Technologies scope. SERVICES

• Ensures adequate residence time for efficient fuel combustion. • Ensures lower furnace exit gas temperature to avoid fouling due to the presence of alkali content in the fuel.

3. Higher furnace cross section to reduce flue gas velocity in the furnace, hence reduced fuel carry over and less suspension / localized combustion in the upper furnace. 4. Convective Super Heater Design.

• Super heater placed in radiant zone faces burning fuel particles. • Fouling of ash in Super heater due to high temperature in radiant zone. • Causing overheating of radiant Super heater during boiler start up due to higher metal temperature. All the above problems are eliminated by placing super heater in convective zone. (Refer General Arrangement drawing enclosed).

5. Interstage desuperheater between superheater sections for final steam temperature control. 6. Proper split of primary and secondary air for efficient fuel combustion in the furnace. This also ensures proper prediction of furnace exit gas temperature for downstream sizing of heating surfaces. 7. Conservatively designed Steam drum.

• To keep drum steam loading rate low. • To enable boiler operation with rapid load swings and fast response to load changes.

8. Efficient drum internals consisting of cyclone separators and demisters to ensure high steam purity at all loads. 9. Over fire air system with higher secondary air pressure to provide better air penetration across furnace cross section thereby minimizing un burnt carbon loss. The secondary air nozzles are staggered providing turbulence and effective air curtain to minimize escape of un burnt fuel particles. 10. Optimum steam side pressure drop in superheater circuit to ensure proper steam distribution and cooling of superheater coils. 11. Optimum flue gas velocity levels in pressure parts to minimize erosion due to ash and due to presence of sand in fuel. 12. High circulation ratio at all loads ensuring efficient cooling of water wall tubes and also preventing departure from nucleate boiling. 13. Refractory band of suitable height in the furnace to sustain combustion of high moisture fuel. 14. Pre dust collector is provided in flue gas path to eliminate fire hazard in Electrostatic Precipitator. 15. Advantages of reciprocating grate stoker:

• Insensitive to fuel size. • Fuel containing high moisture can be successfully burnt. • Rapid load swings can be accommodated due to large inventory of the fuel on the grate. • Simple control

Reciprocating Grate Boiler FUEL ANALYSIS (% by weight, as fired basis) Notes on Fuel: 1. We presume that the fuel is free from clay, shale, rock, stones, nails, etc. 2. Ash initial deformation temperature should be more than 1000°C. 3. Chlorine content in the fuel should be less than 0.1 mm. 4. Above analysis for MSW Pellets is assumed by us as per our experience. We request customer to provide detailed analysis for all the fuels. 5. Since Slop has fouling characteristics, the boiler & ESP may require shutdown for cleaning. 6. The frequency of shutdown can be mutually decided based on the operating feedback of the boiler. 7. As we do not have the ash analysis, presently we have considered Alkali content (Na equivalent) of less than 0.40% by weight of total ash (i.e. ratio of acetic acid solvable alkali (Na equivalent) & total ash). DCS for proposed plant packages such as Boiler, TG (except governor system), AHS, FHS, WTP and CWS in our scope. However other offsite packages (Compressor, ESP and Turbine Governor System) are individually controlled through local control system and hooked up with DCS for monitoring purpose through RS 485 mode bus. 2.0 DCS shall consist of following. o Power supply module
