Now we dry…

• All the GEMs are in.• All the tests are done (twice):

– Capacitance while connected.– Voltages on cables.

• Glove Box being used as dryer:– 50 cfm….~1400 liters/minute.– 4.5 ppm and falling…

Odds and Ends:

• Schedule:– Dry the detector all this week.– Remove from glove box Monday Oct 9.– Ship to BNL Monday October 16.

• Flashing the detector.– I personally don’t like the LED option:

• QE at 250 nm is probably dominated by thermal noise.• The real test is QE at low wavelengths!

– The only reason that we can’t flash normal lamps is that Hamamatsu uses transformers.

• I am 100% certain we can flash a normal lamp.• Transformer in base is removable and non-magnetic circuit is

easy to design and build.• So…put 4 lamps on the detector…put electronics far far

away.
