Length depends on EPFL regulation, no exceptions

IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO SHORTEN THIS DURATION EVEN IF YOU FIND A JOB

– Signature from EPFL supervisor within the I&C Faculty– Deadline for giving the form to the section: December 24th, 2010

• Step 2: IS-Academia– Complete the form (no need to print)– Opening date of registration and deadline will be given by the SAC

– Signatures from EPFL supervisor, host supervisor and yourselfONCE YOU HAVE THE POSITIVE ANSWER FROM THE COMPANY, YOU HAVE 2WEEKS TO FIND THE IC PROFESSOR TO SUPERVISE YOUR MASTER THESIS

– Deadline for giving the form to the section: December, 24th 2010 at noon

• Step 2 : IS-Academia– Complete the form– Opening date of registration and deadline will be given by the SAC later

• SAE form for Master Thesis in a university only– Complete the form, find it on: http://sae.epfl.ch/page-27066.html– Signature from Mr. Jean-Luc Benz (delegate for mobility)

• More than 8 credits failed = No Master Thesis.

All conditions are the same whether the PDM is found by your own means or not:

Administrative tasks

• On your 1st day of work, please send an email toconfirm the beginning of your Master Thesis to yourSIN/SSC secretary

• IMPORTANT: It is essential to report progress to yourEPFL supervisor. If you receive no indications from thesupervisor, ask!

• Hand-in to your SIN/SSC secretary:– 3 paper copies of your Master Thesis report and– 1 electronic copy

• Update short description (PDM abstract) on our website

• Projects– must be clearly defined and validated by all

the sides (EPFL professor and Company).

• Registration– If you decide to find a PDM through the

Internships management (portal) database,you cannot do your own search in parallel.

Academic registration fee

• During the Master Thesis period:

the student is still registered at the EPFLin PDM status

• Fee for registration - > CHF 633.--

What To Do Once You Get the Job?

• You MUST decide to accept or reject it within the next 3 working days

• You MUST inform Ms Patricia Silva of your decision

• Once you have accepted the offer– No withdrawal– Notify all other contacts

• Supervisors• You have to introduce the 2 supervisors to each other• EPFL + Company / University

it is YOUR responsibility to find an EPFL supervisor BEFORE committing foran external MSc Thesis Project

• Confidentiality Agreement• You have to inform all the parties involved
