Approved Purposes

•To explore the working and social life in Linlithgow connected to the papermaking industry. Former employees of the papermaking industry and a Primary 6 class will participate in the project.•To provide learning opportunities for schoolchildren including a tour of relevant industrial archaeology and remaining structures in Linlithgow, a visit to an operational papermaking factory, and a visit to the local history museum in Linlithgow. Former employees of the papermaking industry will lead on some activities.•To organise workshops and activities for project participants, such as examining documents at the local history museum, developing family trees and creating oral history recordings to capture local memories of the papermaking industry.•To collect copies of relevant records to create a handling box and CD which will be made available to schools and communities.•To organise other events and activities including a launch event and an end of project event, an exhibition, a practical papermaking session, and a drama performance.
