Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT)• The CBDT provides inputs for policy and planning of direct

taxes in India. It is the apex body of tax administration. Itcame into existence in 1964.

Insurance Regulatory and Developmental Authority (IRDA)• IRDA regulates and develops the insurance industry in India.

It was created in the year 1999.Industrial Investment Bank of India• It came into existence in the year 1997. It offers a wide range

of product and rervices including equity subscription, assetcredit, equipment finance and investments in capital marketand money market instruments.

PUBLIC SECTOR BANKSObjective : To use financial institutions as the instrument forpromoting economic and social development in a more purposefulmanner.
