Encourage schools to use State ID on next MAP assessment CRF Two formats: excel spreadsheet CSV Cost: $150 Use the form provided today give to Susan Slide 5 MAP/NeSA Linking Study NWEA will conduct a linking study between the MAP assessment and NeSA this fall. Correlation study to determine RIT scores by grade that identify performance levels on NeSA. Will include reading and math grades 3-8 and 11 (science can be added next year) Starting in October, NWEA will ask for data files of NeSA data from MAP Member Schools or ESUs Excel, CSV or text files are acceptable Be looking for an email from Don Draper at NWEA instructions on how to upload the data Slide 6 Using Projected Proficiency Reports Slide 7 MAP & ACT Alignment Report on the alignment of the RIT scale to the ACT scale is due Dec. 2011 Allow schools to utilize MAP data to predict college-career readiness scores on Explore, Plan, ACT Readiness is a systems issue regression study to early elementary grades Slide 8 NWEA New Professional Development Programs Partnering to help all kids learn goes beyond providing an assessment PD designed to answer the question, What are the most effective, research-based teaching practices that result in maximum student growth? Introducing 2 new PD Programs this year: The Power of Teaching Atlantic Research Keeping Learning on Track ETS and Dylan Wiliam Slide 9 Spanish Math MAP Test Field Testing NWEA is conducting a field test of a NEW Spanish language Math test for 2-5 Begin in Jan. looking for districts that would like to participate Will test students anytime after Jan. 1 During field test, students will not receive a RIT score or reports Compensation for field testing will be the ability to use Spanish Math MAP for free in the 2012-2013 school year. Slide 11 RIT & RTI Universal Screening MAP and MPG can serve as Universal Screener for RTI programming. Currently seeking external validation from NCRTI (see web site) expect results in spring 2011 We expect the highest ratings based on initial analysis We are working diligently to make MAP and MPG more acceptable in a progress monitoring regime. Slide 12 MAP as Universal Screener: Accuracy Screeners should not over-identify or under-identify which kids are at risk This is classification accuracy If Area Under the Curve (AUC) .85, measure has excellent classification accuracy MAPs classification accuracy looks great in first analysis AUC is consistently above.90 Slide 13 Slide 14 Recommendations Plan to use MAP & MPG in your RTI program for universal screeninglook for results this spring from NCRTI Use a balanced assessment plan for the 3 tiers of RTI - one assessment will not fit the needs of all 3 tiers Compare assessments through the NCRTI make informed choices Develop a Comprehensive Assessment Plan that includes RTI and other data needs - NWEA can assist with this Program called CAPP - Comprehensive Assessment Planning Process Slide 15 LESSONS FROM THE FIELD Sharing MAP Data in a PLC http://www.allthingsplc.info/ Get into groups of 3 to 5different school districts Share what you are doing to help parents understand MAP Assessment data Share out new ideas (each group share one idea)
