Validating Bandwidth Headroom

Figure1 Shows the relative results of this test when run on the Intel 440BX chipset platform and the Intel 820 chipset platform

The result: Intel 820 chipset have more B/W to access headroom than Intel 440BX about 2.26 time.

The Hub architecture,high-speed buses also save pins.

820 chipset has a total of 565 pins between its two major components ,compared with 816 on 440BX.

So that manufacturing cost will be reduce and increased reliability.
