CRUSHER HOUSETEST LOCATION

Challenge:

- Determine the IFD Cirrus’ ability to detect fire over coal conveyors.

- Test the IFD Cirrus’ ability to withstand heavy coal dust environment without false alarming.

Installation:

- The IFD Cirrus was installed for 13 weeks in a NEMA 4 enclosure.

- From here, the piping would run down to the lower level entrance conveyors.

Testing:

- To conduct the test, temporary air sampling piping was constructed of ½” flexible nylon tubing running the length of the conveyor with air sampling points approx. every 10 ft.

Testing:

- The IFD Cirrus is outfitted with a filter manifold system that removes coal dust from the air, NOT combustion particles caused by fires.

Test Results:

- Despite its harsh environment, the IFD Cirrus performed flawlessly throughout the length of the test.

- It did NOT FALSE ALARM or have any troubles or faults.
