“Nothin’ But A House Party”
On October 24, 2015 with the support of over 30 spon-sors, Littleton Youth Football & Cheer is producing a con-cert “Notin’ but a House party” to benefit its membership. The LYTFC program has built a tremendous reputation and has earned the ranking of a nation-ally competitive league. As LYTFC has grown in its suc-cess, sending multiple football players and cheer teams to com-pete at the AYF/AYC National Competitions. The Cheer teams placed top in the country.
Memories of the 80’s & 90’s will fill the air and friends will hit the dance floor when The Fool’s (http://www.thefools-band.com) , Eddy’s Shoe (http://eddysshoe.com/) and Danny Klein’s Full House Band (http://www.dannyklein.com) take the stage on October 24 at 5:00 PM
at the Boxborough Holiday Inn (Boxborough, MA).
The event, “Nothin’ but a House Party” (http://www.notinbutahouseparty.com) will feature all three bands playing to a crowd that is expected to reach 1,000. The featured bands are both locally and nationally recognized artists for perform-ing favorites and renowned for their covers. And will be playing music from artists such as The Fools, J. Geils, Grateful Dead, Neil Young, Rolling Stones, Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Frank Zappa among other artists from the 70’s, 80s and 90s.
“Nothin’ But a House Party” will feature both food and drink concessions and general seating. Tickets are limited. Price per ticket is $35 for general admis-sion/non-reserved seating and can be purchased online at www.notinbutahouseparty.com.
Both The Fools and Danny
Klein have long standing careers in the music industry and have earned their spot as major nation-al performers. Both have roots and got their start in here in the Boston area.
The headlining band The Fools have had several hits that made Billboards Top 100 and have performed on US Tours with The Knack, Van Halen, Rush, Joan Jet and more. There full bio can be seen (http://www.thefools-band.com/html/museum.htm). The scintillating lead singer of THE FOOLS has a new project, his band Mike Girard’s Big Swing Thing. It’s A BIG BAND but it’s not your typical Big Band. It’s ROCK & ROLL with HORNS… A ton of them! They have been preform-ing sold out show throughout New England
Danny Klein is the found-ing member of the J. Geils band and is returning from the J. Geils national concert. His Band Danny Klein’s Full house will be preforming a show that celebrates the music of the J. Geils Band. Having the luxury of being in both the J. Geils Band and Danny Klein’s Full House Band keeps Danny Klein doing what he loves best, continuing to put his critically acclaimed licks on music he enjoys.

Memorial Congregational
Church Wednesday Night Worship
Many stories from our scrip-tures take place at a well. In addition to providing life-giving refreshment, communal wells are often the location of God-centered conversations that lead to deeper human relationships.
We gather on Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. seeking the same. Our time together is meant to build relationships and be refreshing. A variety of ideas are discussed including cur-rent events, theological ideas, and how we feel called to be “church.” We seek God through liturgy, communion, and other spiritual practices. Sometimes dialogue is inspired by sacred and secular music or video. We conclude with communion.
Everyone is invited to partici-pate as much or as little as com-fortable. Join us on Wednesdays at 7pm in the parlor of MCC located at the corner of Concord Rd and Church St in Sudbury. There is a seat at the table for you. For more information, please contact the church office

Early Fall Color Could Be Sign Of Tree
DistressIn many parts of North
America, people will soon enjoy one of nature’s finest shows - fall foliage. Color-changing leaves make for a beautiful display, but early changes in leaf-color can be a sign that your tree is stressed and vulnerable to insect and dis-ease attack.

“What a gem Action Unlimited is!! For short money - great coverage”.

If the leaves on your trees are changing color sooner than similar trees in the area, consult a professional arborist, who can identify any problems and offer possible solutions.
“Premature color change can be an indication that a tree isn’t vigorous enough to withstand insects and disease organisms that may attack it, not to men-tion the usual changes that occur when the weather turns cold,” says Tchukki Andersen, BCMA, CTSP* and staff arborist with the Tree Care Industry Association. “Occasionally, only one or two limbs of the tree will show pre-mature fall color. This could be a sign of a disease at work, though only the infected limbs are weak-ened.”
The more common situation is for the entire tree to exhibit premature fall coloration, a phe-nomenon usually linked to root-related stress. “Trees respond to these stresses by trying to cur-tail their above-ground growth,” adds Andersen.
Leaves can be thought of as small factories containing raw materials, products and by-prod-ucts, all in chemical form and some with color. As the leaf is “abandoned” by the tree, the
green chlorophyll - the dominant chemical found in most leaves - is broken down and “recycled,” leaving behind other-colored chemicals. Supply lines to the leaves also become clogged, affecting which chemicals are left in the leaf: If the major chemical remaining in the aban-doned leaf is red, the leaf turns red; if it’s yellow, the leaf turns yellow, and so on.
“The yearly variation in color intensity is due to fluctuating weather conditions, which can affect the balance of chemicals and their composition in the leaves,” Andersen says.
Differing amounts of rainfall, sunlight, temperature, humidity and other factors may have an effect on how bright and how long the “leaf-peeping” season will be in any given year.

Frozen Foods Can Calm Hectic Schedules (NAPSA)-The change of sea-
sons can be an exciting time:
Football is in full swing, nature’s
fireworks are on display and the
hazy heat has faded into cool,
crisp weather. But as great as fall
can be, it also means it’s time
to get back to reality and busy
schedules.
Fortunately, with all the deli-
cious selections now available in
the frozen food aisles, it’s easier
to make it through your hectic
week. And maybe more impor-
tant, they make it easier to find
time to relax while still enjoying
an appetizing spread of refresh-
ments.
• Breakfast can be hassle-free if
you opt for frozen foods. Waffles,
breakfast pastries, bagels and
juices can get the day started
right, with no time wasted.
• Pizza bites are just one exam-
ple of a great heat-and-eat snack
option that will hold you over
until dinner.
• Whether you’re entertaining
guests or just keeping it low-key,
whip up a spread of appetizers
that will satisfy your snack crav-
ings without missing a minute of
the game. With options such as
frozen pizzas, wings, dips, chick-
en tenders, mozzarella sticks,
spicy cheese bites and hot pock-
ets, there’s something for every-
one. Celebrate after the game with
desserts such as pies, cakes and
ice cream.
Here’s a great recipe that will
excite football fans everywhere:
Cocktail Meatballs
12 oz. chili sauce
12 oz. grape jelly
1 package (38 oz.) frozen meat-

River’s Edge Players Actors Win DASH
AwardsThe River’s Edge Arts
Alliance is pleased to announce that EMACT, the Eastern Massachusetts Association of Community Theaters, has named the following River’s Edge Players as part of their Distinguished Achievement and Special Honors (DASH) for their performance work on One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, directed by Lynne Johnson.
Hudson Resident, Kevin Santos took home the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Play for his amazing portrayal of the role of Martini. Tying for the award of Best Youth Actor in a Play was college freshman Ryan Bonner of Boylston, MA for his fantastic portrayal of the young and impressionable Billy Bibbit in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest performed in April. The DASH awards are part of a long standing EMACT tradition, with 118 plays and musicals from well-known Community Theater groups from Eastern Massachusetts competing for awards.
Winners were announced at the annual DASH Gala, run much like a mini Tony Award Show, held on Saturday, August 29th, at the Arsenal Center for the Arts. In attendance were River’s Edge Player’s members Karen Bishop of Marlborough, Lynne Johnson, Paul Johnson, Kevin Santos and Kathy Wilkinson of Hudson, Cathy Koerwer of Sudbury, Jamie Shea of Clinton and Killian Vega of Leominster.
The River’s Edge Arts Alliance is a non-profit organi-zation which brings the full spec-trum of the arts to the Hudson and Marlborough area. It offers opportunities to experience visu-al and performing arts through participation and attendance. The organization is supported by individuals, families, orga-nizations, and businesses from more than 30 communities. Our programs and events are made possible from the generous sup-port of our sponsors:
The Robert Lloyd Corkin Charitable Foundation, Home Instead Senior Care, Hudson Rotary Club, New England Clean Energy, TD Bank and S&F Concrete. For more infor-mation visit upwitharts.org.
