Cal Maritime Extended Learning Transfer and Cancellation Policy
Our Extended Learning Department provides training resources to a diverse group o students, many o them scheduling
classes several months in advance and/or traveling long distances to attend. Due to the specialized nature o our courses
and our unique student community, we have implemented the ollowing transer and cancellation policy to ensure that every
student is given ample opportunity to obtain the training they desire when they register or our scheduled courses. I youcannot attend a class, you must contact our oce in advance to either transer or cancel your registration.
Transfers
Transers to another scheduled class (or rom one student to another) are accepted at any time beore the start o the
class at no charge. Students are encouraged to transer to a uture scheduled class o the same course.
I the student cannot transer to a scheduled class o the same course, then he/she may transer to another class o a di-
erent course and receive either a reund or pay the dierence between the two class ees (i applicable).
I the student cannot attend any scheduled class, then the Cancellation/Reund Policy is in eect.
Cancellations/Refunds
Extended Learning will provide a ull reund i a student cancels 15 or more calendar days beore the start o the class.
Cancellations received between 14 and 7 calendar days beore the start o the class will be charged a ee o 25% o the
class tuition. Cancellations received less than one week prior to the start o the class will receive a 50% reund o class tu-
ition. Cancellations received one day prior to or on the start o the class will receive no reund. Students who are registered
yet ail to attend, as well as those who do not complete the program, will not be eligible or reunds.
This policy is to discourage late withdrawals and thus reduce the nancial impact on our other students who are traveling
rom a distance to attend the class (e.g. lost hotel and travel reservation ees), our instructors and CMA when a course
must consequently be cancelled at the last minute.
I CMA Extended Learning cancels a class, students will be oered:
A transer to a scheduled class o the same course.
A transer to another class o a dierent course (students will receive either a reund or pay the dierence
between the two class ees, i applicable).
A ull reund.

Welcome from California Maritime Extended Learning
Caliornia Maritime Academy, the only maritime university in the western United States,
oers exciting extended learning opportunities or training and education in the maritime
industry. Our instructor led and online courses are designed to meet the needs o
experienced mariners who need recertication, as well as those who may be new to
the industry and want to explore a career in maritime. We also develop and deliver
customized training in leadership and management skills, or more technical workshops in
maritime-related regulatory requirements or agencies and corporations in Caliornia, the
Pacic Northwest and throughout the country.
Our campus is ideally situated at the juncture o the Carquinez Straits and the San Pablo Bay in a serene environment
that enhances your learning experience. Our acilities are state o the art Cal Maritime eatures six major simulators
on campus so that training is as realistic as lie on the water.
The Caliornia Maritime Academy was ounded in 1929 and is a unique campus o the Caliornia State University. We
continue our tradition o developing training and programs that prepare you or a lietime adventure.

Enrollment Information
WHO MAY ENROLL
All Extended Learning courses are open to adults, at least 18 years old. No prior college education is required. Studentsshould have good verbal and written English skills to successully participate in any o the training courses.
Registration does NOT guarantee a seat in the class. The Extended Learning Department requires a 20% deposit on allcourses. Space is reserved and students are considered enrolled only when the 20% deposit has been received.
California Maritime Academy Alumni receive a 0% discount on Extended Learning classes.

California Maritime Academy Alumni receive a 10% discount on Extended Learning classes.
Course ees may be paid by cash, check (payable to CMA), purchase orders or with Visa, MasterCard, or American Express. 20% depositregisters and reserves your seat in the class. All registration must be paid in ull (2) two calendar weeks prior to the beginning o theclass. There will be a $25.00 ee charged or all returned checks. Extended Learning will provide a ull reund i a student cancels 15 ormore calendar days beore the start o the class. Cancellations received between 14 and 7 calendar days beore the start o the class will becharged a ee o 25% o the class tuition. Cancellations received less than one week prior to the start o the class will receive a 50% reund oclass tuition. Cancellations received one day prior to or on the start o the class will receive no reund. Students who are registered yet ail toattend, as well as those who do not complete the program, will not be eligible or reunds.
