FAMILIES AT FIRST PRESFirst Pres has three rooms to help young families onSunday mornings: one nursing room for mothers & infants,next to the Prayer Room, between the Sanctuary and LeeFellowship Hall, and a second nursing room for mothers &infants, on the 1st floor of Clayton Life Center next to theelevators.

In addition, we have a Family Room for infants, children anddads :-) , also on the first floor of Clayton Life Center.

All three rooms have a live television feed from the worshipservices.

fewest of all peoples. But it was because the Lord loved

you and kept the oath He swore to your forefathers.The Bible commentator, Matthew Henry (1662-1714),makes this comment regarding God the Fathers love andchoosing of His children. Israel is my son, my firstborn;not because He needed children, but because they wereorphans, and needed a father. We live among and aresurrounded by a world of orphans. Today is a joyous occasion as we celebratethe commissioning of 7 caring members of ourcongregation who have heard the call of the Lord andleft their nets to follow Him. This rite of commissioningculminates a period of extensive training andpreparation for caring ministry through the Stephen

Series, a special ministry of care and concern forothers. Our Stephen Ministers have studied andpracticed skills in such areas as dealing with feelings,crisis intervention, asserting oneself with gentlenessand firmness, and numerous other topics toprepare them to help people who are experiencingproblems in their lives. After the commissioning,these Stephen Ministers will be assigned to ministerin our congregation and community, working withpeople who are experiencing such life crises ashospitalization, retirement, financial setback, the loss

of a loved one, or any of a number of other difficultiespeople face in daily living.

The Stephen Ministers commissioned today are:
