Do you remember the cartoon Inspector Gadget? Yeah I know you you’re all singing the opening song, “Inspector Gadget ohh ooh!” You know how it goes at the beginning of the show Inspector Gadget gets some big mission to save the day from Dr. Claw. During the course of his missions to help himself out he’s able to extend his arms, legs, and neck to help him out among other fun things like a helicopter in his hat. Have you ever had that thought that if only you were like Inspector Gadget and could just say “go go gadget arms” you could reach that unreachable object. We are looking at starting a new Jaycees extension in Iroquois County and all we need are 20 people to make a new chapter. They will need some guidance from Kankakee to help them get their chapter started so I’m sending out a mission to you all to help us find some people in Iroquois County who might be interested in making an impact in their community. We can help them and they can help us, a whole lot of teamwork goes a long way in making our communities a better place. If you have any leads please don’t hesitate to let me know and we’ll get this new chapter up and running. Please accept this mission and don’t worry this message will not self-destruct! GO GO KANKAKEE!

Do you remember the cartoon Inspector Gadget? Yeah I know you you’re all singing the

opening song, “Inspector Gadget ohh ooh!” You know how it goes at the beginning of the

show Inspector Gadget gets some big mission to save the day from Dr. Claw. During the

course of his missions to help himself out he’s able to extend his arms, legs, and neck to

help him out among other fun things like a helicopter in his hat. Anyway all these things

make him able to do seemingly impossible things, but with his extensions they are made

possible.

Have you ever had that thought that if only you were like Inspector Gadget and could

just say “go go gadget arms” you could reach that unreachable object. Now apply that to

the Jaycees, have you ever thought if we just had 20 more people that big project I’ve

been dreaming of could be in reach! ‘Go go Kankakee!’ We can create a new extension

of our very own in Iroquois County, and we can all help each other out! We are looking at

starting a new Jaycees extension in Iroquois County and all we need are 20 people to

make a new chapter. They will need some guidance from Kankakee to help them get

their chapter started so I’m sending out a mission to you all to help us find some people

in Iroquois County who might be interested in making an impact in their community. We

can help them and they can help us, a whole lot of teamwork goes a long way in making

our communities a better place. If you have any leads please don’t hesitate to let me

know and we’ll get this new chapter up and running. Please accept this mission and don’t

NOTHING BUT NETS

Our Nothing But Nets fundraiser is getting closer!

Nothing But Nets is an organization that raises money for bed nets to help African families fight against Malaria.

The event will be a bags tournament on the patio of the Fieldhouse Grille and Pub on Thursday April 19th starting at 5:00.

There will also be live acoustic entertainment throughout the whole evening.

If you would like to help out the night of the event contact me at [email protected].

Also, feel free to just come out and have a fun night with your fellow Jaycees while enjoying some great entertainment.

If you would like to be a part of the tournament, sign up at www.k3jc.org under the events tab.

We would love to see everyone out for a great time and a great cause!

Helping the Homeless

Great Progress for the Homeless Shelter

I am so excited about all the great donations that people have given so far for the Homeless

Shelter Drive.

There are only a couple more weeks for people to turn in items. So far we have actually

gotten a lot of clothing, paper products and hygiene products.

I'm sure that Pastor Ed and everyone at the shelter are going to be very excited to see

everyone's generosity. If you still have items to donate, please bring them to the general

meeting on Sunday April 15th at Beef O'Brady's.

If you just drop them off, please make sure you check in with Lucinda, Jackie or Raquel to

record what you have donated as we will be sending thank you cards and receipts for

everyone's donations.

If you cannot make the meeting, please contact Lucinda LaPierre to set up a time for picking

up or dropping off your items. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far and I am

excited to see what the rest of April brings!

Relay for Life

Hey Guys! I am so excited for this year’s relay for life!

We’re putting together a team and would really love to have you join!

If you haven’t been out for the Relay before you should defiantly think about it; it’s a

lot of fun and very worthwhile!

Even if you can’t do the relay we would love to have you participate by donating!

The relay starts June 16th at 2:00 PM, and ends June 17th at 6:00 AM at the Kankakee

County Fairgrounds. To donate or sign up please join us

at http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR?pg=team&fr_id=38132&team_id=1159059 and

HAPPY KANKAKEE PARTY

This is a business networking and community improvement idea party. Come experience the joy of community!

Happy Kankakee is a public, participant-driven campaign to boost civic pride among residents of the Kankakee

REGIONAL Area. Participants are encouraged to adopt positive attitudes based on love and compassion, giving and

sharing; to collaborate communally (network) toward desired community improvements; to support local

endeavors; to promote the good, and resist the bad. As always, I am always seeking more Junior Chamber

representation. I was glad to see Steve and Flo at last month's event; and I was impressed to find that they made

HKP an immediate priority: their first stop after having just returned from an out-of-town trip! Anybody that does

anything, sells anything, is trying to promote anything; has a vision, a gift, or a message to share, is welcome. Help

expand the network and make public information common knowledge. Public domain: anyone can host a Happy

Kankakee party. Call 815-263-0587 or email [email protected]. The next HKP is scheduled for April 29th,

5-8pm at Kankakee River North Restaurant, 555 S West Ave, Kankakee, IL.

We Believe:

That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life;

That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations;

That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise;

That government should be of laws rather than of men;

That earth’s great treasure lies in human personality;

And that service to humanity is the best work of life.
