FAQs: Broker/ Agent

How do I get started?

Along with discussing goals with your liaison, you will need to execute a Sourcing Fee Agreement with Infinite Energy. Once this has been completed, we will also need a completed ACH form and a W9 for processing payments. We must have all three documents completed in order to pay you accurately and on time. After this is done, you can start sending requests our way. It’s that simple!

How do I get paid?

We have a few different options for payout to meet your individual needs. For any immediate commission questions, you may reach out to [email protected].

Payment options are as follows:

A. Residual payout: Our most popular option pays a commission on each commodity unit a customer uses. The amount accrues as the customer is billed for the usage, and it is eligible for payout when the customer pays their account balance(s) in full.

B. Flat-fee payout: This is a one-time commission payment per customer. A flat fee is earned when a customer has received service from Infinite Energy for at least 30 days and has paid the first invoice in full and on-time.

C. Up-front payout: This is a one-time commission payment based on the customer’s estimated usage and the length of the Sales Agreement. The up-front sourcing fee is earned when a customer has received service from Infinite Energy for at least 30 days and has paid the first invoice in full and on-time.

When do I get paid? What is the schedule?

You can elect to be paid either monthly or quarterly. In either circumstance, payment is due to you within 45 days of the end of that cycle, which is approximately the 15th of the month.

To whom do I send requests?

Please send all requests to [email protected] and copy the Account Service Representative who has been assigned to your book of business. Aside from your Account Service Represntative (ASR) and dedicated liaison (Jeremy, Xavier, etc.), you have a full team to help you increase profitability and position your company for growth.

What information do you need to obtain pricing?

1. Always include the due date. If not noted, your request will be processed as we are able on a first come, first served basis.

2. Desired start date. ASAP is acceptable.3. Terms needed

Page 4: 0470_IEI_broker_FAQs

4

FAQs: Broker/ Agent

4. Utility name and associated account numbers 5. Usage details, if applicable 6. If you have bills, they are always preferred7. Legal Entity Name of customer 8. Your desired broker adder

Do you have daily pricing?

Yes. We email an Excel spreadsheet of our pre-set daily rate options to a secured list of brokers. We also have a sales portal (www.InfiniteEnergy.com/broker), which is a great tool to quickly target a specific service area’s rates. You can also generate contracts directly from this portal. Pre-set rates include all our markets except Georgia.

Please note that our pre-sets are not meant for interruptible or daily-metered customer types. Please ask for a custom offer on these.

How much adder/fee can I have? Anything higher than $0.05/therm or $0.005/kWh will need to be addressed with your ASR.

What if the purchaser uses more or less gas/electricity than estimated?

For firm customers, our rates are full requirements, 100% tolerance, meaning that regardless of how much is used, the customer’s rate per unit will be the same. This is a benefit IEI offers, as some other suppliers have what is called “swing pricing,” with different rates if the customer uses more or less than expected.

What about my renewal clients?

We have a dedicated team who focuses on your accounts that are approaching expiration or are on our standard variable rate. They will renew these accounts, keeping your adder intact, and allowing you to focus your energies on new business.

Any accounts that we cannot renew with your current adder will be reported to you, and we’ll wait for instruction on how to proceed. This is a very exciting advantage that you have in working with Infinite Energy; please offer your feedback as we streamline your business and sales efforts.

What are your credit standards/options? We strive to provide the credit status upon each bid response. We will need the customer’s active Legal Entity name to review credit history. Standard credit responses: Approved, Approved With Conditions,

Page 5: 0470_IEI_broker_FAQs

FAQs: Broker/ Agent

or Denied. If a customer is Approved With Conditions, such as a deposit, we have numerous options to help lower or possibly remove the deposit altogether. Some options include reviewing invoices showing good payment history, a Letter of Credit from a bank, a personal or corporate guaranty, etc.

In POR (consolidated billing areas: PSEG, NJNG, and ConEd,) customers in these areas are automatically accepted for service.

FAQs: Broker/ Agent

What areas do you serve?

We serve all meters behind the Atlanta Gas Light utility.

How long can the customer contract a rate?

We are able to offer contracts anywhere from one month up to five years.

When will a customer receive the first bill from IEI? The first bill will generate within four to six weeks after services are activated. However, if you choose Infinite Advance, our PrePay product, you will receive your first bill in about seven business days.

What are your standard payment terms?

Net 20. If different terms are needed, please let us know upfront. As this is not a standard for IEI, we may need additional approvals.

What are the standard charges a customer will see on the bill?

Your monthly bill will include four or five standard charges:

• The cost of the gas• Some business customers may see an interstate pipeline capacity charge• Atlanta Gas Light Company base charges• A monthly service fee• Any taxes that apply to your area

New gas customers will also be billed within the first one to three invoices for turn-on or activation fees.

What are Atlanta Gas Light Company base charges?

The base charges are levied by Atlanta Gas Light Company to cover the costs of maintaining and constructing the pipelines and equipment that distribute natural gas directly to your home or business. These charges are passed to the customer without markup from any supplier.

What are the interstate pipeline capacity charges? This is a fee for transportation of gas through the interstate pipelines from the gas-producing regions to Georgia. It includes the fixed costs Infinite Energy incurs for the transportation and storage of gas.

Commercial customers may have this cost rolled into their price per therm or have it billed as a separate

FAQs: Broker/ Agent

line item. The final cost should be about the same under either format, but these are two different options for managing the same cost.

What is the DDDC factor, and how is it calculated?

The Dedicated Design Day Capacity (DDDC) factor is used to calculate your AGLC pass-through charges. The DDDC factor determines how much pipeline capacity is needed to deliver natural gas to the customer’s location on a very cold day. AGLC calculates your DDDC annually, usually in August, by reviewing the past gas consumption and usage pattern at the meter’s premise.

FAQs: Broker/ Agent

How long has Infinite Energy been providing a continuous service product, and in which markets?

Infinite Energy has been serving the multifamily market since 1998 when the natural gas market in Georgia became deregulated. We very quickly discovered this niche market had great potential and have since become one of, if not the, largest continuous service provider in the state. Our success in this market was a major factor in our decision to enter the Texas electricity market in 2010, which operates in a manner very similar to that of Georgia.

Today, we serve natural gas continuous service customers in Georgia and electric continuous service customers in Texas. We can also provide natural gas service in Florida, New York, and New Jersey, but there is no continuous service component available. Please refer to the service area chart on page 1 of the General Broker FAQ sheet for additional details.

What is needed to become a broker/agent with Infinite Energy for multifamily customers?

The requirements are the same as those for general broker/agent relationships to begin working with Infinite Energy. However, due to the intricacy and many moving parts of continuous service, we also want to make sure you understand the market and can communicate this type of service to your clients. We are here to help you in any way we can and are happy to meet and discuss the market, ensuring you have all the tools for success. When done right, multifamily can be a very successful market. If you would like to learn more about this niche, all you have to do is ask!

How do I get pricing?

Please send all requests to [email protected] and copy the ASR who has been assigned to your book of business. Please indicate within the subject line of your email that this is a continuous service request (“CSA” in TX and “CGS” in GA).

What information is needed in order to obtain pricing?

There are two elements to continuous service pricing: house (aka common areas) and vacant (aka CSA). Each requires different information in order to price.

House Pricing: We will need historical usage for the house meters. In Georgia, all that is needed is the AGLC account numbers or the exact address of each meter, and we can procure this information from AGLC. In Texas, we will need either the utility-provided usage files (UH Files) or a list of the ESIIDs along with a signed Letter of Authorization, which we can use to obtain the historical pricing from the utility.

Page 21: 0470_IEI_broker_FAQs

21

FAQs: Broker/ Agent

Vacant Pricing: We will need to know the number of rental units at a property along with the city/zip in which the property is located. For the most accurate pricing, we would also want to know the approximate vacancy rate at the time of pricing.

What term lengths do you offer for CSA/CGS service?

In Georgia, we can price out five years from the prompt month, and in Texas, we can offer three years out. For example, if it were April 2014, May would be the prompt month, and we could quote out to April 30, 2019 in Georgia or out to April 30, 2017 in Texas.

Do you provide the option to aggregate the pricing for house and vacant meters, or are they separate prices?

While we can accommodate your preference either way, house and vacant meters are typically priced separately in Texas but aggregated in Georgia.

Do you offer group billing?

Yes, we offer group billing but can also bill individually, if that’s preferred. We typically will create two group accounts per CSA/CGS property: one for the house meters and one for the vacant meters.

Do you charge monthly customer service fees (aka base charges)?

We can price with service fees (typically called base charges in Texas) or without. Service fees can be done on a per-meter basis or a per-group invoice basis. Keep in mind, however, that margins have to come from somewhere, and rolling the service fee into the rate will mean a higher rate.

Will you price/serve only the house or vacant portion of a community while the other portion is served by another provider?

Yes, but if pricing for each is requested at the same time, these elements are typically quoted with the assumption that they are a package deal. If you would like the option to consider each item independently, please indicate this in your bid request.

What information is needed in order to obtain a contract?

In addition to the information needed to obtain pricing, we will also need:

Page 22: 0470_IEI_broker_FAQs

22

FAQs: Broker/ Agent

• Full Legal Entity Name and state of incorporation• Federal Tax ID #• Billing address• Mailing address for notices, if different from billing address• Mailing address for door fee/incentive checks• Complete listing of address/address range for rental units that will be on continuous service. A copy

of the most recent rent roll will often suffice.

Does any other information need to be submitted along with the signed contract in order to start service?

Yes, we will also need:

• A completed W-9 for each entity receiving door fee/incentive payments• A list of the rental units that will be vacant at the time continuous service is scheduled to begin. If the

desired start date is more than a week away from the date the contract is signed, this requirement can wait until we approach the start date, as vacancy status can change.

• Property-level contact information, typically the property manager or assistant manager• Regional level contact information, especially if multiple properties are involved

What support is provided for multifamily communities?

Infinite Energy maintains a dedicated customer service group for our multifamily communities. They understand the industry, the needs of our multifamily communities, and are thoroughly trained in the intricacies of multifamily service. Each community has an assigned primary representative, ensuring a single point of contact who is familiar with your account and can communicate effectively with a community’s onsite staff.

Do you offer a marketing agreement, aka referral agreement or revenue share agreement?

Yes, the amounts differ based upon the market and details of the property. Ask your ASR to discuss specific offers for the property or properties in question. Door fees can be paid monthly or quarterly and can be split between the purchaser and broker (you) in any manner. Any active accounts with Infinite Energy must be current for incentive payments to be made. Payments will be held to both the purchaser and broker if any accounts are in a past-due status.

Page 23: 0470_IEI_broker_FAQs

FAQs: Broker/ Agent

What assistance does Infinite Energy provide to assist communities’ marketing efforts to their residents?

Infinite Energy likes to take a hands-on approach with our multifamily communities. We have local representatives in all of our continuous service markets to make in-person visits to every community on a regular basis. They will provide on-site training for the leasing staff regarding our residential rates and programs, the benefits to their residents, and how those residents can enroll with Infinite Energy. Marketing materials and display holders are also provided.

Infinite will also help sponsor community events. Whether they are holiday parties, renewal parties, themed event, or summer pool parties, Infinite can help sponsor the costs and even be on site for the event itself.

We will also do referral contests that provide small rewards for the leasing office staff themselves, with the permission of upper management. Rewards are typically along the lines of a complimentary lunch brought to the office or small gift cards.

What are your residential rate options for the residents?

Infinite offers a wide range of rate options to accommodate your residents, though there are some differences between our markets.

Texas: In addition to month-to-month variable rates, residents may also choose from fixed rate of 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 18 months, 24 months, or 36 months.

Georgia: In addition to month-to-month variable rates, we also offer a wide range of fixed rates. Under our lease-matching program, fixed rates are available for any term between 3 and 24 months, which benefits residents who have less (or more) than 12 months remaining in their lease or who have non-traditional lease terms. We also offer long-term options for 24- or 36-month terms.

Georgia residents also have the option of a variable-rate prepay program known as Infinite Advance. This plan is perfect for customers who have no credit or bad credit and would otherwise pay a deposit or be denied.
