In 11 years of managing storage arrays, I've never had so much detailedinformation about exactly what is going on inside the storage system asidefrom how many IOPS. I've worked with almost all of the big names on somevery high-end systems (EMC Symmetrix & Clariion, Hitachi 9900, NetApp &StorageTek) and DTrace Analytics is several orders of magnitude betterthan any other storage management software or debugging tool I've everworked with. Good job!

We were trying to understand why performance isnt where we need it to
be. And with the analytics, its right there. Its on the screen, point and clickand you can dive into whatever level of detail you need. And Ive just notseen anything else out there like that. So thats been the number one winfor us, the analytics.
Mark NiedzielskiInfrastructure Manager, OurStage, Inc..
Its a delight to use. We spend less time reacting to the performance of the
system and more time planning and supporting company strategy overalladministration time has fallen by 50%. From the teams perspective, itmeans we can demonstrate the value of the investment to senior managersand prove our worth to the company.

Supply Chain Strategy: Move from Complex to Simple
New: Build-to-Order Manufacture based on orders Benefits:
Wait to use components untildemand materializes
Minimize finished goods inventorydue to near just in time demand
Fully utilize component inventoryby matching to demand
Ship directly to end customersrather than distribution centers
Eliminate inventory tied up indistribution chain
Eliminate logistics cycle timebetween build locations and
distribution centers
Manufacture based on forecast Problems:
Order excess components to coverforecasting inaccuracies
Components and parts tied up infinished goods inventory
Excess inventory if revenuedoesnt materialize
Excess inventory needed to stockacross distribution channels
Reconfiguration costs from havingto rework finished goods
Product obsolescence whenproduct transitions are introduced
Wasted shipping costs whenproducts not in the right location
Old: Build-to-Stock
