www.toadsuckcarclub.com March 2010 President Don Searls called the meeting to order with 33 members & guest present. Minutes were read and approved. Jim Bemis gave treasurer report. The balance for January 2010 was $6,903.70 & the balance for February 2010 was $7,028.70. The newsletter by e-mail should start in March and will only be sent to members who have paid. Remember that all dues are due now. Our May car show will be held at our normal location on May 1, 2010 and our August car show will be held at Pickles Gap Village on August 21, 2010. There was discussion concerning the yellow roadster on our club logo. It was decided to keep the yellow roadster as it is on the logo. Kevin represented our club at the car club meeting held in Cabot, Arkansas. He got good feedback from other clubs, concerning our car shows. Kevin brought back flyers for every car show to be held in this area. Don named several car shows that we can enter and attend during the next several months. One was the Bradley County “Flashback Wings & Wheels Show”. This will be held in May. $272.66 was received from the insurance company for speakers owned by the club. The speakers were stolen during a break-in, while being stored. An idea was brought up of how we should select the high school scholarship recipient. It was suggested that the kids submit an essay, go before a panel of members and come to a meeting. This will be a more formal way of selecting a recipient. A motion was made and accepted to do it this way. A scholarship committee was selected for doing the interviews. They are as follows: Don Searls – Club President, Jeremy Briggs, Bill Helton, Bill Yates, and alternates Harold Bates, Jim Bemis. Kevin Mathis will act as an advisor. Any member can sit in on the interview, however they will not be able to ask any questions. George Covington is looking for a part time mechanic to work on his antique cars, if anyone is interested contact Don. Keith Belcher (not a member) who attended our car club shows regularly was killed recently in an accident. Joyce Hudson will send a card to his family, expressing our sympathy. Jim Bemis reported that Pat Holloway’s cars would be in the movie about the life of Hank Williams. Part of the movie was being shot in Little Rock and that is when they used his cars. Motion was made & 2 nd to adjourn.
