MTV

MTV is a dynamic company, full of young people. They are growing rapidly, and the existing building is too

small.

MTV needed a building in Amsterdam that felt both ‘at home’, while containing state-of-the-art production facilities.

The building should reflect the ideals of MTV Networks.

WHY ?

The new headquarters is to be situated in an old industrial area of Amsterdam. It is part of a regeneration scheme for this

location. We must keep the existing structure, along with the original look of the buildings exterior.

Several production companies, such as MTV, Nickelodeon and TMF will use the building. It should include meeting rooms,

editing suites, studios, offices, a restaurant and welcome area.

Special attention should be paid to lighting and soundproofing. The atmosphere should be ‘open’ but with

private areas. It should be ‘hip’ but professional; a great place to work, overlooking the water in Amsterdam.

Research includes workshops with everyone that will use the building. We are trying to find that ‘MTV feeling’.

The design develops into large open spaces and quiet production rooms. Graphics and animations are kept purely

for integrated screens.
