humanoid robot

Humanoids can communicate in a manner that supports the

natural communication modalities of humans. Examples include:

facial expression.

Page 4: 026

byrun Byrun is a dynamic humanoid robot able to walk , run, jump, with facial

expressions, voice & gestures.

Page 5: 026

Technologies used in byrun

Parallel electro- pneumatic actuation.

Expressive head.

Bi-articulated limbs.

Tactile pneumatic hands.

Custom built BLDC motors.

Precision encoders.

Energy storage via muscles.

Ground contact sensing.

Series –elastic actuators.

Page 6: 026

Design principles

Byrun has a bio-mimetically driven design rationale. Namely,

to emulate human movement and dynamics.

Byrun’s proportions, joint locations and actuation ranges are

as closely matched to a human model as possible

Page 7: 026

Kinematics

Bi-articulate actuation: motors and pneumatic muscles that affect two

degrees of freedom simultaneously.

. In the legs the actuator linkage mimics the action of human muscle pair

rectus femoris and biceps femoris.

Page 8: 026

Series & parallel elastic elements :These are used to sense force energy,

counter gravity loads which can reduce power consumption and required

maximum output power

Multiple Actuation Types: the human body has at least four muscle types,

with skeletal muscle dividing broadly into two variants, fast and slow

twitch.

Page 9: 026

motion of byrun

Walking is not merely a

means of locomotion.

It can also act as

multivariate signaling

device.

We envision a robot who

can spring optimistically

into action, run across a

room.

Page 10: 026

Expression Byrun is not just a mobile set of limbs, a robot who can read your facial

expressions and body language, and modify their own.

Projective head technology: Byrun’s head shape has designed to be

androgynous - combined with our projective head technology, Byrun can

take on the appearance of anyone

maplesim

Using MapleSim, Byrun's designers and engineers have developed a

biologically analogous leg design which will give Byrun the ability to

walk, run, jump and hop

Page 13: 026

advantages of byrun robot

Human interaction.

Human work becomes easy.

Can run , jump, hop

Page 14: 026

disadvantages

Technologies are complex.

Cost is high.

Controlling could be corrupted.

conclusion

Byrun are setting a new standard for robots.

Byrun will make a great platform for others to

build on.

Byrun can perform something never seen before
