01Personal Branding Logo Design Personal Branding Style Tile for Responsive Design
New branding was designed in 2014. The “m” was initially included for my first name and based on how I sign my name, but dropped based on what most people know me as - “Hope”. The ink splotch was an alternate idea for branding.
02 Style tiles are a starting point that define a style to communicate responsive design for the web in a way that clients are more comfortable with. Containing UI style swatches, this style tile includes visual design artifacts that will be carried across desktop and mobile experiences. This style tile may not include all elements, but provides guidelines for branding.
The personal website was designed and developed using the personal branding, color scheme, fonts, and design elements (as seen in the “Style Tile” (#2). The site includes video, rollovers, a light-box photo gallery, and utilizes a one-page scrollable design.

03 Personal Branding Wireframing | UI and UX Design
Wireframing for user interaction and experience was done using Adobe Muse. Once pages were arranged based on user interaction with the site, design and interactive elements were added based on how I wanted the user to interact with the site. Clean design is used to allow for easy us-ability of the site. Top navigation auto-scrolls to sections on the landing page allowing for naviga-tion to other pages within the site. Additional navigation is available in the page footer.
06 Personal Branding Interactive Application Packet
Designed with the branded logo, this curriculum vitae kept the branding font in lower case. Teal colored bars/bullets were added for consistency with the logo/header.

teaching philosophyI promote a teaching philosophy that fosters collaboration and innovation in the classroom. I want my students to be capable and confi dent in creating solutions to design problems. I have seen them work together on semester-long projects when all they had to go on was a problem scenario. Last year they were challenged with this project: “Working with a nonpro t or company, help them design, promote, label or package no more than three exographically printed products, where one of those products includes an interac-tive element.” At fi rst my students did not know where to start. They were overwhelmed by the seemingly unbounded guidelines and I quickly moved into a facilitator role to get them started, help them get organized, and keep them on task. I also took on the role of advisor as I worked with the student project leader outside of class to coach him on motivating the team, assigning tasks, and sticking to a deadline. The students came together, talked about diff erent
products, what companies they could work with, and reasoned on what their capabilities were. They were challenged not only to provide a solution, but to work collaboratively until the end goal was met. My role was to provide the structure and support; the students developed the innovation. I provided the opportunity for my students to develop the confi dence they needed to be successful and they surpassed my expectations.
Lifelong LearningTeachers are students themselves. I believe in con-tinuous professional development and I am always
looking for ways to stay current with design trends and technological innovation in my fi eld. What’s important is that students are current with their creative thinking and technical and skills. Today’s employers want graduates who can make the connections between several ar-eas of understanding. I strive to foster innovation by promoting such skills as critical thinking, problem-solving, and cooperative and collaborative learning.
FoundationsI promote an active learning environment with real-world problem solving where students can build on prior knowledge. As a fi rst step, I assess what concepts students bring to class before we start adding new concepts. They should think about what they have learned, how they have learned it, and the connections that exist between prior knowledge and new

Alumni Homecoming 2006 Invite and T-Shirt Alumni Homecoming 2008 Invite and T-Shirt07 08Postcard invitation and coordinating t-shirt were designed based on the “tiger” mascot at Clemson University. The promotional event was designed to invite alumni back to the printing lab during Homecoming weekend for a hands-on activity. I designed, printed, and imprinted the alumni da-tabase for mailings for the postcard. I prepped screens and set-up the press for printing a 2-color design during the event - participants printed their own shirt.

The logo needed to portray “an after-work place you would want to meet friends for a drink and a bite to eat” but also somewhere a couple could have a date night.

Career Connections Postcard Design16 Variable data postcards were designed based on variable data printing (VDP). A database of company names, contact names, and addresses were matched with the design file using a plug-in called FusionPro®. The postcards were printed digitally (Kodak Nexpress) via individual personalized PDF files. The design had to incorporate the theme of moving from the classroom to the conference room, a typical scenario for a student entering the workforce for an internship or full-time position.

The logo represents the bond between the parents and a child and the love that grows from that relationship. The logo includes the organization name. Black and white logos were designed for variation.
