Herman Santiago had been credited on the first pressings of the song, “Why Do Fools Fall in Love,” by Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers. However, his name was removed on later releases. Santiago appears to have been the song’s true author, but despite a lawsuit granting him ownership, the publishing firm won an appeal. The single first appeared in Billboard in the issue dated February 8, 1964; it debuted the following week and on March 21 st it peaked at #5. That same week it reached its highest point on Cash Box – coming it at #6.

Picture Sleeve PS1A(east coast): The sleeve is cut straight across the top on both sides. PS1A(a) has a brown border. “Fun, Fun, Fun” is on top on the open side of the sleeve. PS1A(b) has a brown border. “Why Do Fools Fall in Love” is on top on the open side of the sleeve. PS1A(c) has a green border. “Why Do Fools Fall in Love” is on top on the open side of the sleeve.
