chromID™ O157:H7Clear colours, for clear answers!
Chromogenic medium for the selective isolation and presumptive identificationof E. coli O157:H7 in food products
bioMérieux offers you a range of solution suited to your needs:
An acknowledged pathogen: E. coli O157:H7
The severity of E. coli O157:H7-induced infection, generallycaused by the consumption of contaminated meat or milk,is now well-established.
Standard food hygiene and storage precautions arefrequently not enough to limit the presence of thismicroorganism.
Screening for this pathogen is now more important than ever.
chromID O157:H7,an innovative chromogenic mediumenabling easy differentiation between the O157:H7 serotype and other microorganisms:
• ready-to-use medium
• identification of E. coli O157:H7 after only 18-24 hrs ofincubation at 37°C
• characteristic green to blue-green colour of E. coli O157:H7colonies
• more fertile than SMAC medium, and equally selective
• inhibition of Gram + bacteria and yeasts
• increase in selectivity with respect to Gram - bacteria byadding Cefixime Tellurite, for highly contaminated samples
chromID O157:H7 agar can be used:
• using a conventional method, after an enrichment phase, e.g. according to the ISO 16654 protocol
• to confirm positive results obtained with the VIDAS ECO test orthe VIDAS ECPT test, by direct isolation of the enrichment brothor after immuno-concentration with VIDAS ICE (validatedAFNOR/ISO 16140 and AOAC RI methods including chromID O157:H7)
