BUDDHISM Siddhartha Gautama (563-483 BCE) Born an India prince. At 29 he rejected his luxurious life to seek enlightenment and the end of suffering. Lived a strict, ascetic life for 6 yrs. Rejecting this extreme of self denial. At age 35 he found nirvana through meditation. Buddah means “Enlightened One,” Four Noble Truths Suffering exists. Suffering arises from attachment to desires.
