Cuneiform

Cuneiform- the earliest form of writing. It used symbols made up of wedges and lines and was pressed into wet clay with a sharp stick.

Cuneiform started as pictographs, but evolved into symbols. Pick 2 of the above words and

copy them into your journal from 3500 B.C. to 500 B.C.Want to know your

Like ancient Mesopotamia, Egyptians used pictures to stand for ideas or things. These pictures were called Hieroglyphics.

The Phoenician Alphabet was the worlds first alphabet. It used symbols to represent sounds rather than using pictures for objects and ideas…
