House of Representatives. 4. In 1853 he begins to serve in U.S security.5. 1865 he was captured by the Union

Cavalryman on May 9.

Civil War effect on American Culture

- We abolished slavery - It became safer and more free for

African Americans- Racial groups were started in the south- Racial problems are still occurring

today over 100 years after the Civil War

Main Weapons Used in the war

- Artillery- Small Arms - Minnie Ball- Edged Weapons

Artillery

- There was a 12, 24, and 32 pounds.

- There was a 3, 8, or 10 inch breech or muzzle.

- Frequently used as a canister which is its older larger cousin weapon.

Civil War’s affect on the future

- Mainly it stopped slavery

- But there is still segregation here today

- It also made people have to work for there own money which mean no more slaves

Civil war Ended

- The civil war ended because of the surrender of the Confederates

- The out come was Unions victory and 700 casualties

- Ended: April 9, 1865
