Do you love your faith? Do you want our children to know and be excited about their faith? Then We Need You!

The Genesis program is in need of a 5th Grade Catechist and Aide. If you are being called to become an active part of this important ministry or want to find out more about it, please contact Penny at 743-2024 or [email protected].

Seminarian Collection As friends and followers of Jesus, we need to provide for the needs of our future spiritual fathers. In about two weeks, we can do just that by supporting the 15th Annual Seminarian Collection:

Hope for the Future, Help them Today. Watch your mailboxes for more details. Your gifts have benefited the education and formation of our own seminarians and supported the growth of priestly vocations. Over the past 15 years, 36 men have been ordained in our Diocese. Please be generous!

With Praise and Gratitude to Almighty God From a letter received from William Edward Gerl III a former parishioner of St. Joseph Parish:

For many years, St. Joseph was my church home. I was baptized

confirmed and married there. It is the true birthplace of my faith

formation. My journey continues forward. On Saturday, August 1

I will be ordained as a permanent deacon for service to the

Diocese of Green Bay. I want to thank the parish and school for

helping me to hear God’s voice. I would also like to ask for

prayers as I and seven others take this next step. The ordination

will be live streamed on the Green Bay Diocese’s Facebook page

10:00 am on August 1.

May God Bless William with strength and grace in his Ministry.

We have been meeting on Wednesday evenings in the Corpus Christi parking lot. Middle, high school, and former teens are invited! We meet at 6 for about an hour and a half. We ask that you bring a blanket or a chair and any snacks you may want. We make sure our chairs are 6 feet apart and we stay outside. If it is raining, we reschedule. BUT the nights have been going so well! It’s so great to be able to safely gather!

Have you sent in your donation and t-shirt order for the Virtual Walk for a Cause in Memory of Adam LaLuzerne? The Virtual event is just 2 weeks away! (August 8th). If you haven’t sent in your donation or ordered your t-shirt email Sarah ASAP. We will mail t-shirts to those outside of Sturgeon Bay but will charge extra for shipping. Check out the event on Facebook: Virtual Walk for a Cause: in Memory of Adam LaLuzerne. The event page has all of the details you need along with deadlines. If you don’t have Facebook, call or email Sarah! [email protected]

We are starting to plan for our fall semester. Please pray for us as we make decisions. We are in tough times and we want to keep all students and adults safe. Parents, we will be in touch with you as well!

Please follow Sturgeon Bay Edge and Life Teen on Facebook and @sturg_youth_ministry on Instagram to stay connected!

Usher Ministry We need Ushers at the 4pm Mass on Saturdays. If you are interested or would like more information, please call the Parish Office 743-2062.

Most ancient cultures including modern day integrative medicine andhealth psychology point to a connection between mind, body andspirit and recognize that each compose a part of the whole.   Whenassessing our own personal health, how many of us take time toevaluate the health of our spiritual lives?   What constitutes living aspiritually healthy life?    The core of spiritual health is viewing lifethrough a spiritual lens – viewing and interpreting situations, whethercurrent or past, through the lens of faith, and whatever pathway orpersonal set of spiritual beliefs to the Divine you practice. Ultimately, this is what will keep us spiritually healthy.

SPIRITUALITY FOR THE LONG HAUL

Living A Spiritually Healthy Life - Looking Through A Spiritual Lens

Perhaps you have a new view of the importance of family.  You may have discovered what is most important in your life.

Maybe you learned something you didn’t know as you guided your children

through their school lessons.  Perhaps you are taking time to enjoy nature, or you built a small back-yard

garden.

Perhaps a daily walk or just sitting on your porch has become something to

cherish.  Maybe you’ve learned to appreciate many of the things once taken for granted.

#1 I want to hear how this has shifted your life for the better.

Continued....

The Prime Minister of New Zealand challenged her people toreflect on the following thoughts and questions throughoutthe current global pandemic - perhaps they are relevant to allof us. Our gut reaction these thoughts and questions maycome swiftly because we all have been going through our ownpersonal struggles.   Instead, lets ponder them through aspiritual lens.

Sitting at the table and eating together as a family may be something you will do more

Perhaps your family has decided to honor the wearing of masks to respect each other’s rights to be

healthy.

Maybe you are examining what really makes you content and have discovered it’s the simple things that

fulfill you.

Maybe you’ve reconsidered some of your social commitments and found alternatives that may allow you

more time with your spouse or children.

You may be eating healthier and not going to as many fast food restaurants.

Perhaps you’ve decided to adopt, share and demonstrate a loving, positive, caring attitude about these

times through messaging, Facebook posts or phone calls to loved ones and friends.  What is the

message you are spreading through your words and actions that can influence the world?

Maybe you have discovered you don’t need to be running here-and-there and found joy being in your

own home.

Perhaps you found out you don’t need as much as you thought you did and can live a much simpler life.

Maybe you shifted your attitude from being quick to complain to one of being positive and grateful.

Perhaps you will not be so quick to judge, but instead quicker to understand and empathize with

another’s point of view.

Maybe you have explored some new spiritual reading, read some self-help books, or worked on

forgiveness or issues that have been long neglected.        Maybe you have started a daily prayer routine as the foundation of your day.

You may look at those who are now called “essential workers” as always having been essential.  Our culture shouts out that black lives matter when every life has always mattered.  Maybe

Perhaps you have a grater respect for our educational system and teachers after having worked

Perhaps you have reevaluated what it really means to live in a democracy. What are the true principles

that we need to stand up for?

#2 I want to listen to the changes you have made/will be making for yourself, your

family and your world from here on out.

regularly.

#3 What are some habits you will not be returning to?

#4 How have you honored / embraced yourself in this time of solitude?

#5 How has this pandemic shifted your relationship to our current system?

(Health Care, Government, Schools, etc.)

this movement has helped you realize that we still have a lot of work to do to make sure that all

lives matter.

with your own children.

NURTURING OUR SPIRITUAL HEALTH CAN BE TRANSFORMATIVE. OUR THOUGHTS AND ACTIONS CAN HAVE A RIPPLE AFFECT, A TSUNAMI OF HEALING THAT

WILL CARRY US THROUGH TODAY, TOMORROW AND INTO THE FUTURE.
