TYPES OF LOCATIONS

There are two types of locations. Absolute location: precise spot on earth

using longitude and latitude. (Exact) Relative location: lactation of a place

with comparative landmarks. (Close)

LOCATION EXAMPLES

Relative location: › St. Louis, Missouri is in eastern Missouri

along the Mississippi River southeast of St. Charles

› Dardanelle, Arkansas is located on the western side of Arkansas River, 3 miles from Russellville, Arkansas.

Absolute Location:› St. Louis is 38˚ North 90˚ West› Dardanelle is 35˚ North 93˚ West
