Seven Curriculum tracks that students can follow Core or Honors
Track that most students choose Allows greatest choice of electives
over four years Art, Music, Computer Science- Begin freshmen year
Students take at least one class in the chosen track each year
Students take AP courses in subject area as juniors and/or senior
AP Capstone- begins freshmen or sophomore Focus on development of
analytic, research, communication, & problem solving skills AP

speak Spanish encouraged to take placement exam June 19 Electives:
Art, Music, Computer Science If Core/Honors track, students must
choose either Art or Music (Both grad. requirement) Review Course
Catalog under Curriculum tab Tip: choose class youre less
interested in ^Math Placement is based on Exit Exam- either CPS or
Lane Tech Only take placement exam if you have taken Algebra
Placement process will be outlined at www.lanetech.org/2019 Do not
submit Algebra Exit Results- save to double check placement on
schedule

sophomore year Must maintain an A or B average, teachers
recommendation NO EXCEPTIONS! Students with IEPs will meet with
service provider to determine inclusion classes Academic Center
students must submit transcript by April 1, 2015 Student schedules
will be provided in the May 8 th packet Placement Exams are June 19

Lane is a big school- What if I need help? Daily tutoring in
all subjects after school, schedule posted on Lane Tech website
Saturday tutoring Library open Monday-Friday until 6 pm and
Saturdays from 8-noon Math lab during lunch Study skills &
organization help with school psychologist during lunch period
Counselors available during lunch periods, before and after school
STARS Mentors- exchange phone numbers at events- text or call
Freshmen on Track for students who are struggling- begins at 5 week
