Mr. Miller who is Equipment Manager of a Construction Tool and Equipment Rental company receives many equipment and construction tool requests every day. He enters one request to view all requested line items. Then he clicks on the first line item which is an excavator. He immediately receives a list of all available excavators which matches the request from the specification point of view, considering transport route optimization in case the equipment will be chosen. He selects the first excavator from the list and finds further details of the equipment like usage and whether the equipment is free for the time frame requested and it’s rental fee. He then clicks on the 2 nd button to receive real time information on how many mileage the equipment has been running since the last inspection, what distance in total and at this specific day it has covered. By clicking on the 3 rd button he can see the current location of the equipment on a map. Clicking on the 4 th button, the Equipment Manager receives actual, route- and transport relevant information and he decides to assign this specific equipment to the request. He clicks “assign asset”, reviews the assignment data and clicks ok. He receives a confirmation, that the assignment has been created. He continues to work on the next item and so on.

About
Responsibilities Main Goals
Needs Pain Points
• 42, single, 15 years equipment administrator experience in construction and mining industry
• Works from his office and on the construction yard to see which equipment are currently in the yard
• I work mainly with construction side managers and foremen who report their equipment requests to me, but have also to deal a lot with engineers, technicians and mechanics.
• No Knowledge about utilization of equipment. Whether the required equipment is available (free to be used, in use or in maintenance)
• No visibility of current equipment location
• Rising operational costs and shrinking margins
• Increasing administrative workload
• Improved availability and tracking of equipment and equipment history- independent on country boundaries
• Full control over equipment locations
• Reduced stock of equipment through transparent equipment planning
• Avoiding equipment “down times” by introducing predictive maintenance and machine learning (recognition of declining)
• Optimized equipment utilization and transportation
• Provisioning of requested equipment
• Planning and scheduling of equipment and its maintenance
• Analyzing Equipment Performance, profitability and utilization
• Settlement and cost control of equipment
• Sophisticated Equipment Management Application
• Integrated Systems for automated End-to-End Processes
• Equipment Transparency real time sensor data everywhere and any time
