what is the ReVive Centre?

The ReVive Centre is Habitat for Humanity Halton-Mississauga's upcycling Centre that recycles and transforms donated products and materials that would otherwise go to landfill. Items are created from these materials and older furniture is ‘revived’ into something that can be sold by Habitat. The facility includes a fully-equipped tool workshop, DIY Zone & KidsBuild Zone.

We give corporate teams, as well as other volunteers, the opportunity to work together, learn some incredible new skills (like using power tools) and flexing their creative muscles!

As the very first of its kind, the ReVive Centre helps our ReStores raise funds to support Habitat's mission to build safe, decent and affordable housing for hard-working, low-income families in need.

Whether you're a tool expert, an artist or just a beginner, the ReVive

Centre has a project for you! YOU KNOW?

For EVERY DOLLAR you donate towards a Habitat for Humanity home, FOUR DOLLARS are returned to society. The hard-working partner families in our homes feel the impact of every donation. This improves their quality of employment, educational attainment, and physical and mental wellbeing.

The ReVive Centre helps support Habitat’s mission in a unique way as it provides an opportunity (outside of a Habitat build sites) for volunteers to build and create!

The ReVive Centre is a great space for corporations/organizations to team build and create new items to sell in our ReStores. The monetary donation required for teams to participate at the ReVive Centre goes to Habitat and helps us build more homes in our community.

frequently asked questions

Team Build Days at the ReVive Centre support our efforts to help families achieve their dreams of affordable housing. Read these frequently asked questions & check out www.revivecentre.ca for more information:

How does our “Team Build Day” benefit Habitat?

Your visit to the ReVive Centre is not only an amazing team-building experience that showcases your organization’s social responsibility & a fun way to bring coworkers together, but all items created or “revived” by your team are placed into our ReStores & all profits go back into home building!

Do I need previous experience? What tasks will I be performing? Is it safe? At the ReVive Centre, volunteers of all skill levels are welcome! No experience required…you will be paired with an experienced crew leader who will guide you and provide you with the training you need. Tasks will vary based on the project for that day. You will never be asked to perform a task that is unsafe.

Where is the centre located? Is transit available? Where may I park?

The ReVive Centre is next to the Habitat for Humanity-Mississauga ReStore at 4500 Dixie Rd, Unit 11B. For transit, we are on many major bus lines and are located just north of the Dixie Transitway Station. There is lots of parking available, we ask that you please park as close as possible to the ReVive Centre.

What time should I arrive at the ReVive Centre? Can I leave early?

Arrive for 9:00am to participate in our safety orientation (afternoon start: 12:30pm). It is important you know your rights & of any hazards when volunteering. If you must leave early let your crew leader know!

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothing you can move around in…you will be working with power tools; sanding & painting so expect that you will get dusty and dirty! We provide a Habitat T-Shirt for each participant. For safety reasons, shorts are NOT permitted & remember to wear SOCKS (you will change into safety shoes)!

Is Safety or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided? We will provide everyone with the necessary personal protective equipment from head to toe before the safety orientation. If you have your own personal CSA approved protective equipment such as safety shoes or glasses, please feel free to bring them along with you.

Is there a washroom on site?

We have washrooms available for our volunteers inside the centre.

Do I need to pack a lunch? What is available to drink?

Teams participating for in a half day event will not be staying for lunch but we will have snacks available!
