本研究の概要•モンゴルにおける「純化主義」とナショナリズム、さらにはそれらと他の要因との関連について検討•ここでは純化主義を「自国の『純粋性』の保護や外国による影響の排除を訴える主張」と捉える•本研究では以下を行う：1. 純化主義に関する項目およびネーションへの意

識に関する項目について、モンゴルおよび他の国・地域の集計結果の比較

2. 上記各項目どうしの相関と、他の要因との関連についての分析

モンゴルにおける純化主義 (1)•血統的純化主義の希求

Ex. Our greatest threat is blood-mixing. Our women going out with foreign men for their money - that is unacceptable. There is a saying that goes, “if your women are impure, your country is done for.” （ウルトラナショナリスト団体のメンバー、 Graaf, 2012 ）

Ex. We have to make sure that as a nation our blood is pure. That‘s about our independence （ 20 代モンゴル人男性の発言、Branigan, 2010 ）

モンゴルにおける純化主義 (2)•文化的純化主義（ ex. 韓国ドラマへの反感）Ex. 連続ドラマへの抗議の座り込みの呼びかけ (Enkh, 2014)Ex. The Koreans flood us with their soap operas. They use them to make Korea seem attractive, so that our men will go over there to work. They try to convince our women that Korean men are good catches （ウルトラナショナリスト団体のメンバーの発言、 Graaf, 2012 ）

「純化主義」の計量分析•日本データの計量分析ではナショナリズムの下位概念として位置づけられている（田辺、 2009 ）•報告者が過去に行ったモンゴルデータの分析でも、純化主義的主張とナショナル・プライド、国への忠誠心との相関が示されている（湊、 2013, 2014 ； Minato, 2014 ）•ただし、過去の分析では時系列の比較のために、純化主義やネーションへの意識に関する項目を一部分析から除外•今回はそれらの項目を可能な限り含めた分析を行い、その結果を報告する

問題Q1. 純化主義はモンゴルの人々の支持を得ているのか？ 単純集計の他国・地域との比較から検討Q2. 純化主義とネーションへのさまざまな意識との関連は？Q3. どのような人々が純化主義を支持する／しない傾向があるのか？ 純化主義、ネーションへの意識に関する項目を従属変数とした多変量回帰分析を行い、その結果から検討

データ• 第 3 回アジアン・バロメータのデータを使用• 現在 9 ヶ国のデータが公開（韓国、モンゴル、フィリピン、台湾、タイ、インドネシア、シンガポール、ヴェトナム、マレーシア）• モンゴルでの調査は 2010 年 4 月～ 5 月にかけて実施。回収数 1210• 対象者抽出の際には、モンゴル全国を 8 ブロックに分割し、 Primary Sampling Unit （小選挙区） Secondary sampling Unit （郡）世帯対象者の順で、それぞれ無作為に抽出• 実査は面接法により実施（以上 Asian Barometer Project, n.d. ）

注目変数 (1) 純化主義•生活様式および経済面での純化に関して、回答者の賛否を問う下記の 3 項目に注目。なお選択肢は4点尺度（後述）

1. （自国の生活様式の保持） Our country should defend our way of life instead of becoming more and more like other countries

2. （輸入制限で農家・労働者保護） We should protect our farmers and workers by limiting the import of foreign goods

3. （外国製品脅威論） Foreign goods are hurting the local community

注目変数 (2) ネーションへの意識•下記 4 項目への賛否、尺度は純化主義同様 4点4. （自国のみに無条件の忠誠） A citizen should

always remain loyal only to his country, no matter how imperfect

5. （ナショナル・プライド） How proud are you to be a citizen of [Country]

6. （国益のため個人利益は犠牲） For the sake of national interest, individual interest could be sacrificed

7. （他国への移住意思） Given the chance, how willing would you be to go and live in another country?

注目変数 (3) 選択肢• 7 項目とも 4点尺度•「ナショナル・プライド」の選択肢は” Very proud” “Somewhat proud” “Not very proud” “Not proud at all”

•他の 5 項目の選択肢はすべて” Strongly agree” “Somewhat agree” “Somewhat disagree” ”Strongly disagree”

•［純化主義］生活様式面での「純化」には賛成、経済面での「純化」にも賛成がそれぞれ多い•［ネーションへの意識］国への思い入れは強く、国のために個人を犠牲にすることも容認

•肯定的回答の合計は他国とほぼ変わらず•ただし、“ Strongly agree” はタイに次いで多い

要因分析•純化主義 3 項目＋ネーションへの意識 4 項目間の相関と、それらへの要因について統合的な分析を行うべく、多変量回帰分析を実施•従属変数は上記 7 項目•独立変数群は、回答者の基本属性、対外接触、権威主義的意見への賛否という種類から構成される（具体的変数は後述）•日本を対象とする既存研究では権威主義とナショナリズムの結びつきが分析されており（金、 2001 ；田辺、 2009 ）、モンゴルでも同様に関連を検討する必要がある

独立変数群 (1) 基本属性・対外接触•基本属性：　性別、年齢、教育年数、居住地域（首都をベースラインとして地方都市、郡中心地、遊牧地域をダミー化）•対外接触：　外国事情フォロー（外国事情への関心、 0 “Not at all” – 4 “Very closely” ）、外国番組視聴（ 1 “Hardly ever” – 5 “Almost daily” ）、インターネット利用（ 0 “Never” – 5 “Almost daily” ）

立法による行政監視の制限 If the government is constantly checked [i.e. monitored and supervised] by the legislature, it cannot possibly accomplish great things.

「聖人」への決定権委任 If we have political leaders who are morally upright, we can let them decide everything.

思想の多様さへの不安 If people have too many different ways of thinking, society will be chaotic.

超法規的措置の容認 When the country is facing a difficult situation, it is ok for the government to disregard the law in order to deal with the situation.

が多数A2. 「自国の生活様式の保持」が「自国への無条件の忠誠」「ナショナル・プライド」と、「外国産品脅威論」が「ナショナル・プライド」とそれぞれ相関

A3. 「自国の生活様式の保持」「輸入制限で農家・労働者保護」「外国産品脅威論」とも有意な関連を示す独立変数は少ない。むしろ性別が有意な関連を持たない点が注目される
