NEWS AND NOTICES
Comment: First off we are extremely lucky to have the 5th floor functional fitnessarea. However I noticed there was no tape on the pull up bars and the rulessign states no tape. Why is this? Portions of the bars especially the top ofthe bars that your fingers grip are rusted, when you grab them to do pull
ups or toes-to-bars the rust really messes your hand up. Me and my guys whowork out here every day are tired of pulling bits of metal out of our handand would really like the pull-up bars to allow tape.Response: Thank you for your feed-back on the Quality of Life programs here inYokosuka. We prohibit

taping pull-up bars due to sanitation reasons: toprevent bacteria build-up that can cause highly con-tagious skin diseases(MRSA, etc.). We highly recommend using workout gloves while performingpull-ups. If you have any questions or require addi-tional information pleasefeel free to contact the MWR office at 241-2941.
