Right before the Christmas Eve dinner we read the Bible and we share a special wafer (opłatek ) with each other and wish ourselves all the best for the next year.

Under the tablecloth we put a little hay

On Christmas Eve for dinner we prepare 12 dishes.

However, usually there is more than 12.

We eat fried carp ( kind of fish )

and some other

kinds of fish

pierogi with mushrooms or cabbage

We also have mushroom soup and

beetroot soup

We also sing Christmas carols.
