The study's findings are also used by government research institutions, higher education institutions and the private sector for further analysis or as a reference.
National Survey of Innovation iscarried out to measure the level ofactivity and the status ofinnovation in manufacturing andservices sectors.
MASTIC has conducted this studyfor six times and it was carried outevery 2-4 years.
Statistics and trends reported in this study will be adopted by national policy makers and analysts to see the development of
innovative activities among manufacturing and services sectors in Malaysia.

To identify and categorise the status of innovative companies based on the companyprofile, such as industry type, number of workers, company size, financial resourcesand innovation expenditure;
To identify the sources of the information acquired by a company to carry outinnovation activities and their impacts;
To identify government supports and assistances for innovation activities;
To identify relevant business partners and collaborators involved with a company inimplementing innovative activities;
To measure the number of companies that applied and granted with an intellectualproperties resulting from innovation activities and expenditures;
To identify factors that impede a company in implementing innovative activities andtheir effects; and
To benchmark the status of the Malaysian national innovation activities as compared toother countries at the global level.
