Holy Father’s Prayer Intentions for March
Evangelization: That Christian communities, especially those who are persecuted, feel that they are close to Christ and have their rights respected.
Faith Formation / Religious Ed “Knowing that we can be loved exactly as we are, gives
us all the best opportunity for growing into the healthiest of people”. Fred Rogers
GRADE 5 MASS is next weekend 3/10 at the 10:45 with reserved seating for the students.
CLOW this weekend and for entire month of March.
As many of you know I had unexpected hip replacement on Feb 8 and am now back to work on a limited basis. I want to acknowledge the generosity and kindness of our faith community. A simple “Thank you” could never convey my appreciation, my heart was overflowing with gratitude for the outpouring of concern for my health and well-being. Your cards, meals, visits, prayers, phone calls and offers of help touched me deeply. Your support and encouragement lifted my spirits and affirmed my ministry to the families of St. Francis. Someone once said…” we do not remember days, we remember moments…” I treasure all your moments of love and friendship. Renee O’Connor
Confirmation Reminders: March 10th is the last class. Please turn in any missing paperwork and make-up lessons at that time. During Lent, you are required to attend Reconciliation and Stations of the Cross at least one time each.
Confirmation will be Saturday, April 6th at 4:30pm. More details to follow.
Sandwich Sunday Our next Sandwich Sunday is next Sunday, March 10th. We welcome our 5th graders and their families as they
lead our ministry of service to those in need. As always, your loving hands and hearts are always needed! See
you then. God bless!
Ecumenical Ash Wednesday Service Wednesday, March 6th at 7:30 pm
This is a wonderful opportunity to come together in prayer and song, and provide a warm welcome to the
neighbors of Marcellus to our parish!
St. Francis Xavier Parish has purchased a gift for you this Lent! Enjoy a FREE subscription to FORMED!

We recommend you start with Lenten Reflections.
March 3, 2019
8th Sunday in Ordinary Time "A good person out of the store of
goodness in his heart produces good." - Luke 6:45
On this Sunday before Lent, the readings challenge us to be mindful of our thoughts, words and deeds. They call us to first judge ourselves before we judge others.
May God shake us from our sins of apathy and judgment, so as to provide a path to enter more deeply
into the Lenten journey before us.
We welcome the newest member of our faith family: Emma Britton,
the daughter of Matthew & Sarah, baptized on February 24, 2019.
We are in need of Cantors & Choir Members: We know you can SING…
Don’t use the same old excuses - We know them well - I’ve never done that before, I tried that once but I don’t
think I was good, I am afraid; I am not worthy to do that. Our reasons not to answer the call of Christ are many. The truth is God calls people all the time to do what they think is impossible and that’s the adventure, with God, everything is possible. Is God calling you?
TALK TO ROB
The MasterWorks Chorale based in Skaneateles will be performing a concert
here at St. Francis on Sunday, March 10th at 4 PM. The concert’s theme is Visions of Light,
featuring Handel’s Coronation Anthems and Dan Forrest’s LUX: The Dawn From On High.
There is no admission fee for this event. (a free will offering is gladly accepted)
