Greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, methane & nitrous oxide etc. trap someof the sun’s energy within our atmosphere & increase the temperature of the Earth.

Human actions gradually increase concentration of green-house gases in the atmosphere and lead to global warming.

The accelerated warming process has a number of dangerous impacts (see below)

Agriculture is a huge source of methane and nitrous oxide and responsible for 15% of world wide greenhouse gas emissions. Climate-friendly agricultural management &

biogas usage could reduce pollution significantly.

One quarter of all man-made CO2 emissions is transportation-related. 750 million cars world wide emit a total of

approx 2.25 billion tons of CO2 each year.

Burning of fossil fuels accumulated in centuries for the purpose of generation of electricity by the power plants has led to great emissions of carbon dioxide. New filtration technologies could reduce CO2

emission by 30 to 50%.

A quarter of CO2 emissions worldwide results from excessive deforestation. Net forest loss since 2000: 7.3 mil, hectares per

year (roughly the size of Panama).

4 deg C raise in average global temperatures would cause nearly all of the world’s glaciers to melt resulting in raising sea levels. There are floods in the areas where the flood history is not very common.

There are droughts in places, which were having good rainfall earlier. The atmosphere gets suddenly very harsh in

the terms of cyclones and thunderstorms.

2 bill. People in 110 countries are affected and threatened by accelerating deforestation. 30% of the world’s fertile land’s surface will turn

into deserts in the future.

One of the major effects of global warming is the climatic change, horrendous energy costs and frequent power cuts are very likely to be serious problems at every level all over the world.

This chart represents the increase in the greenhouse effect since the mid-1700s(when human green house gas emission began to escalate). Each piece of the pie shows the relative contribution these gases have made to that increase.

It is predicted that future climate changes will include further global warming, sea level rise, and a probable increase in the frequency of some extreme weather events. The major impacts of climate change may be physical, ecological, social or economic.

Our concern is on disruption in grid power supply, the impacts of Power Outages and the increased emission levels from Alternate Power Generation

We emphasize our strong political will to urgently combat climate change in accordance with the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities and respective capabilities. To achieve the ultimate objective of the Convention to stabilize greenhouse gas concentration in the atmosphere at a level that would prevent dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate system, we shall, recognizing the scientific view that the increase in global temperature should be below 2 degrees Celsius, on the basis of equity and in the context of sustainable development, enhance our long-term cooperative action to combat climate change.

What’s Venus Group’s Green Initiative?

Venus is an Indian Group of companies, based out of the Eco-City of Mysore (One among the 8 cities in the world). The Kingdom of Mysore was traditionally believed to have been founded in 1399 AD in the vicinity of the modern city.

Vinod Maroli who has complete domain knowledge with an insight to the global as well as Indian gas industry trends.
