Giving and volunteering

Through the BP Foundation, we committed $744,000 in 2009 to humanitarian aid. We supported relief efforts for the victims of the Washington state,.

In 2009, employees gave around $6.1 million, volunteered their time and raised funds to benefit charitable organizations worldwide. These activities were matched by grants of approximately $8.7 million by the BP Foundation

1. 企業的本質在追求最大利益2. 石油為非再生資源,本身價值較高3.BP 的規模甚大,在各國都有許多員工, 其提供的就職機會,也是一種社會貢獻

Conclusion

然而賺錢不是企業唯一目的,若要追求永續發展,其實不是要追求獲利而是穩定 ,簡而言之就是追求資金的流動和循環

企業需要與社會 ( 市場 ) 取得平衡,藉由社會貢獻 (ex. 技術轉移、捐款 ) ,使資金循環,不斷在經濟體系中流動。此外還可替企業贏得美譽
