Ecotourism

Ecotourism is a form of tourism which involves visiting fragile, pristine, and relativelyundisturbed natural areas.

Due to Brazil’s varied natural landscapeof beaches, mountains and jungles, it isa popular destination for ecotourism.

Since the Rio ’92 Earth Summit, Brazil has been at the centre of environmentalism. In 2002 it started its Sustainable Tourism Programme. The goal was to improve the competitiveness of Brazilian tourism through better quality and sustainability.

Brazil has had real success with ecotourism and is one of the top ten green destinations in the world.
