Good News
• Education Aspirations: Nearly all Indiana students plan to go to college
• College-going Rates: 2/3 of Indiana high school graduates go directly to college
• College Enrollment: Indiana college enrollment at all-time high (500,000 students in public colleges alone)
Challenges
• Education Attainment: 1/3 of Hoosiers have completed education beyond high school (rank 40th nationally)
• College Completion: Less 1/3 of four-year college students graduate on time (4% of two-year college students)
• College Readiness: Nearly 1/3 of recent Indiana high school grads require remediation in college
Meeting the Challenge1) Education Attainment:
– Increase adult attainment to 45 percent by 2018.– Increase adult attainment to 60 percent by 2025.
2) Degree Production: – Double the number of degrees/certificates produced by 2025.– Would increase annual production from 60,000 to 120,000 degrees.
3) College Completion: – 50 percent on-time graduation at four-year campuses by 2018.– 25 percent on-time graduation at two-year campuses by 2018.

• GOAL: Support students in accessing and succeeding in education and training beyond high school.
• STRATEGY: Provide quality mentors to 21st Century Scholars at the secondary and postsecondary levels.
• OUTCOME: Participating Scholars complete a college credential.
