Weeks 5-6, Term 4 2017 Super Training @ Endeavour Sports High GWAHS AND Deadly Roos Community Cooking Challenge The challenge for the boys was to prepare and cook a healthy meal for the local community who attended, with the winner being the team who received the most votes on the day. In the lead up to the day our Year 8 boys, led by Dustin Duff and Malachi Whitton-Tareke, practiced cooking up our meal of Lamb Meatballs with Zucchini Dip and Flat Bread. As part of the day the boys were also lucky to meet Aurizon (Clontarf partner) staff member and League legend Steve Renouf and current Kangaroos, Will Chambers and Jake Trbojevic. The boys from all five Academies rose to the challenge on the day, interacting with the local community in a respectful and polite manner which was well received by all. Once the cooking was done the results were in with each Academy electing an MVP for the day who received a trophy and was interviewed by Quit B Fit Ambassador and former NRL Superstar Timana Tahu. Unluckily for the Boomerangs, we ran a close second to ‘Dunheved Dreaming’ with Seth Schmidt from Year 7 taking out our MVP for his commitment and attitude throughout the day. The event was a winner on the day with the boys pumped for our next collaboration with GWAHS later this term! Being part of the Sydney Region means we also have a close connection with our brothers over at the Endeavour Sports High Academy. During Week 5 some of the boys were lucky enough to participate in a super training session in Caringbah. A sleepover in the Academy Room the night before ensured an early getaway with us leaving Bidwill at 5:30am. At the session ran through various drills in front of a group of corporate guests ensuring that the vibe on the morning was positive and enjoyable for all in attendance. Events like this are always a pleasure as it allows our young men to engage with others in the same area and build friendships that will continue to drive them through their remaining years at CCBC!

GWAHS AND Deadly Roos Community Cooking Challenge

The challenge for the boys was to prepare and cook a healthy

meal for the local community who attended, with the winner

being the team who received the most votes on the day.

In the lead up to the day our Year 8 boys, led by Dustin Duff

and Malachi Whitton-Tareke, practiced cooking up our meal

of Lamb Meatballs with Zucchini Dip and Flat Bread.

As part of the day the boys were also lucky to meet Aurizon

(Clontarf partner) staff member and League legend Steve

Renouf and current Kangaroos, Will Chambers and Jake

Trbojevic.

The boys from all five Academies rose to the challenge

on the day, interacting with the local community in a respectful

and polite manner which was well received by all.

Once the cooking was done the results were in with each

Academy electing an MVP for the day who received a trophy

and was interviewed by Quit B Fit Ambassador and former

NRL Superstar Timana Tahu.

Unluckily for the Boomerangs, we ran a close second to

‘Dunheved Dreaming’ with Seth Schmidt from Year 7 taking

out our MVP for his commitment and attitude throughout the

day. The event was a winner on the day with the boys

pumped for our next collaboration with GWAHS later this

term!

Being part of the Sydney Region means we also

FoxSports OzTag Day @ Riverview

Being such a massive event last year the boys were all clamoring to jump on board once this event was placed on the calendar. This time around there were only 4 spots up for grabs with one boys from each year group earning their was onto the team.

The young fella that was chosen has to meet the following criteria: -Above 95% School Attendance -Above 80% Training Attendance -No Suspensions for the Term -Below 5 Negatives on Sentral for the Term

The four boys chosen, Kyle Schembri, Malachi Whitton-Tareke, Preston Beale and Braiden Kennett-Greenacre were thrilled to be part of such a big event and were lucky ebough to be teamed with some office staff from FoxSports. Despite going undefeated, with the help of an ex Wallaby(Drew Mitchell), through to the Quarter-Finals, the boys lost out to eventual winners Chatham High. The boys represented both the school and the academy excellently working well the our partners to have an awesome day out!

2017 Chifley College Clontarf Awards Night.

On Monday St Mary's Leagues Club hosted our second

annual awards evening. Moving on from the successes

of last years event the night was an awesome way to

end the year and celebrate the boys who have worked

hard within the academy but also within the school

community.

Bidwill was represented well on the night with Ochlan

Parsons-King conducting the Acknowledgement to

Country and welcome, and, Braiden Kennett-Greenacre

presenting the Academic Awards for each campus.

Both boys spoke well to a crowd of well over 300

people and with so many being peers never makes it an

easy job!

Stay tuned for an in depth analysis of the awards

winners in the next newsletter
