A Study on the Art of Calligraphy within the
Hospitality Space

Abstract Calligraphy is inherent cultural symbol in Chinese, and
also one of the most representative characteristics in
the national spirit and art. With the change of the times, when
the pen and ink encounter again, the words get rid
of the exist restrictions of "symbol" , integrating into the
modern spirit of thinking, developing the innovation in
"calligraphy", finding the new definitions and exist value in
the hospitality space, and also allowing viewers to
enjoy the greater vitality of calligraphy.
This study aims to explore the imagery thinking on the art of
calligraphy within the hospitality space,
through literature research, in-depth interviews and participant
observation, analyzing with the hospitality space

planning on the issues of aesthetics, situation, cross-border
and perceptions. Results showed that, the aesthetic
images of calligraphic within the hospitality space, the
operators- as- creators have different styles on their
aesthetics context, will arouse viewers' resonation memories of
life with, and consequently, producing the
subjective and objective fusion in the aesthetic experience,
condensing the image of space and Chinese
calligraphy, constructing an interactive perceptions of
cross-border dialogue.
