Field operation : In practice – How does it work?
Modular Handling Crates for Search & Rescue Equipment
Operation
Routine storage Transportation to field/disaster area
Offloading and equipment setup in the field
Operation: 3 basic rules
1. Storage and routine maintenance
Cases will be stored in an "Emergency Storage Unit (ESU)" under strict low-humidity controlled conditions.
The cases will be placed in position according to a supplied drawing.

Operation
Entry side 1
The cases will be aligned in a row, with their doors open for exposure to the dry air in the ESU.
2. Transportation to disaster area
The cases will be moved from the storage area (ESU) with forklifts that load the cases from inside the ESU and bring them to the truck.
The truck crane will lift the cases onto the trucks.
Modular Handling Crates for Search & Rescue Equipment
Operation
There should be separation between the "Unit Cases" and the "Platoon Cases“.
3. "Backyard Method": equipment set up in the field.
Upon arrival to disaster area, equipment will be offloaded (either by truck crane or forklift) and will be transferred to the disaster area.
Modular Handling Crates for Search & Rescue Equipment
Operation
Packages are used for storing equipment in the "backyard" of the disaster area. Rescuers themselves will work out their own packages and unload the contents of the packages for use.
