• The Murphys pay the first $1,500, satisfying Dan’s deductible and leaving a balance of $300. Because the deductible has been met, Regence pays 80% of the $300 and the Murphys pay the rest.

• Dan applies all of the funds he has earned in his MCA so far, lowering their overall bill by $550.
