After the October Revolution of 1917, Russia adopted the Gregorian calendar. In this calendar, delayed 13 days the Gregorian, Christmas parties are held a little later. So, Christmas Dayis celebrated on January 7th.

The mythical carols are replaced by a Slavic song called koliadki. These songs are usually sing with Christmas cards for Christmas Eve. It is usually to find people dressed in costumes who sing these songs in the cities.

The night from 12th to 13th January, children receive Christmas gifts. However, the figure of Santa Claus is replaced by Ded Moroz, who translates as Father Frost.

The truth is that this Papa Noel does not come down the chimney of households. Ded Moroz prefer to call the front door and get the whole family with his sack of gifts. Also, doesn't go alone. The Father Frost is accompanied by his granddaughter.
