Picture Yourself in Vail
The Setting
The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch
The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch exudes authentic Rocky Mountain luxury. The design and architecture of the resort was inspired by the grand lodges of the West. Native materials such as hewn logs, timbers, and stone were used to blend the building with the site. The interior of the resort was completed with wood and leather to serve as an extension of the wilderness. As a part of this concept, most guest rooms offer panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
Inside the resort, relax in the warmth of a three-story stone, wood-Inside the resort, relax in the warmth of a three-story stone, wood-burning fi replace in the Great Room. The Fly Fishing Library is furnished with beautiful oil paintings and traditional Ansel Adams photography.
The grand lodge style of this Mobil Four-Star/AAA Four Diamond year-round destination resort offers limitless outdoor activities to satisfy any guest. From leisurely mountain hikes to climbing the highest mountain in the state to fl y fi shing in quiet highest mountain in the state to fl y fi shing in quiet mountain streams to braving the wild rapids to golf at mountain streams to braving the wild rapids to golf at world-renowned courses, your recreation choices are abundant. The resident Labrador Retriever, Bachelor, even makes the perfect hiking companion.

Convention HighlightsGolf Practice RoundSince practice makes perfect, don’t miss the opportunity to sharpen your game with a practice round on Sunday. The traditional GBA Golf Tournament will be held Monday, but we are giving our golfers a unique experience this year: playing both courses at the celebrated Red Sky Golf Club. On Sunday, tee times have been arranged at Red Sky’s Tom Fazio-designed course beginning at 12:30 p.m. Tee times are limited, so register early, and you will be notifi ed of your tee time prior to the convention. The fee is $175 per person and you may charge it to your hotel room.
Sunday Evening “Mountainside Magic”Begin your magical time in the Rocky Mountains with friends old and new during our annual Welcome Reception. For four glorious months each year, moguls and powder are replaced by an unbelievable array of wild fl owers as the Vail hillside transforms itself into a kaleidoscope of color. Drink it all in while you relax, have a bite to eat and listen to guitar strumming in that famous John Denver style. This event will be held outside. Temperatures cool off in the evenings, so remember to bring a jacket or sweater. The attire is mountain resort casual.
Golf TournamentIn designing his 18 holes at Red Sky Golf Club, Greg Norman skillfully allowed the treasures of the natural landscape to dictate the fl ow of play. Craggy rock outcroppings, twisted knots of scrub oak, rugged gulches, and wildfl ower meadows all contribute to an unparalleled wilderness golf experience. This 7,500-yard (par 72) course enjoys the Vail Valley’s fi nest sunsets silhouetting the majesty of Castle Peak. The tournament is open to all who attend and will begin with a shotgun start on Monday at 1:30 p.m. While the course is challenging, the format will suit all handicaps. The registration fee of $200 includes a boxed lunch and beverages throughout the
tournament.
Chairman’s “Party on the Peak” FarewellWe’ll close this year’s convention in true Colorado style. Rocky Mountain High, you say? You haven’t seen high until you’ve glided to 10,200 feet on the Centennial Express Ski Chair Lift. Don’t worry, we’ll have shuttle buses to take those more “grounded” folks up the mountain. Here, at our fi nal destination, the award-winning Spruce Saddle Lodge, you’ll experience expansive and truly breathtaking views of the Gore Range and Eagle Valley underneath the clear nighttime sky. We’ll have music (just a little bit country, just a little bit rock ‘n’ roll) and lots of other local entertainment to make your last night in this wonderland most memorable. This event will be held both
indoors and outdoors, so don’t forget your jacket or sweater. Attire is mountain casual.

Picture Yourself in VailIn summer, the Colorado mountains are like no other place in the world. White-capped mountains and drifts of snow are replaced by columbine and daffodils, and the mountains are ablaze with brilliant summer color. Beautiful scenery and abundant activities combine to create the ultimate Colorado Rocky Mountain getaway.
The Vail Valley, a world-renowned vacation destination nestled in the Colorado Rockies, is a spectacular experience awaiting your discovery. First explored by gold and silver miners in the late 19th century, the ski mountain was rediscovered in the mid-1950s. In 1962, Vail opened and grew to become the largest ski area in North America. Vail and Beaver Creek are the resort hubs that sprang out of years of visitors’ love for mountain recreation.
Whether you’re seeking Colorado family fun, an outdoor adventure, or international shopping, it’s all here. GBA is offering numerous outdoor activities that will let you and your family embrace that true Colorado experience —fl y fi shing, white water rafting, horseback riding, mountain bike riding down Vail Pass, or a scenic Jeep ride through the mountains. Or downshift a bit while you’re in the Valley—strike out on your own and spend an invigorating day in the sunshine and fresh Colorado air, strolling through the boutique-lined streets of the quaint villages of Avon, Beaver Creek, or Vail. Whatever path you choose, magic awaits.
This is where your dreams become reality. So go ahead, start packing.
