PROJECT RECAPThe Yaletown hostel is Vancouver’s only
boutique hostel, and is about providing
guests with more than just a bed. With a
focus on atmosphere, social interaction
between like-minded travels and local
community engagement staying at the
hostel is an experience.
The core differentiating values of the
Yaletown hostel are social engagement
and a focus on amenities.

Identifies with the hostels unique
location within the city.
Association with Yaletown’s historic
warehouses and the Round House.
Implies a casual laid back atmosphere.

This is a concept for a series of ads
aimed at travelers using YVR-Airport
station. The Yalehouse’s target market
of international budget travelers aren’t
coming to Vancouver to sleep. Young
budget travelers seek adventure and
to experience the culture of a new
city while meeting new people. This
campaign focus on the value of the
hostels many unique amenities.
RACK CARDThe rack card will be used to market the
hostel at tourist information centres where
ever Metro Vancouver accommodations are
being promoted. The two sided rack card
will provide potential guests with some brief
information about the hostel and amenities.
The language and look will be similar to the
advertisements.

WELCOME PACKThe welcome package will be given to all
arriving guests and will include a hostel
layout with room directions, key card, hostel
rules, list of amenities and a local area map.
The considered presentation of these
essential items will give the hostel a higher
perceived value. The primary design
component of the welcome pack will be the
fold out area map, which will help provide
guests with a local perspective of local
activities geared towards budget travelers.
