Paper 2: Spelling 15 MINUTES – 20 MARKS

Thursday Maths Paper 3: Reasoning 40 MINUTES – 35 MARKS

• Second year of children being tested on a

brand new curriculum (Children have had

last 3 years on the new curriculum)

• Every child will take the test (very few will be dis-applied)

• No writing test – teacher assessment

• Structure of reading test

• Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation

(SPAG)

• 3 different papers – Arithmetic, Reasoning

1 and Reasoning 2.

• No calculators in Maths test

• No mental maths test

• No longer a L6 test for more able students

– there will be a few questions at the end

of each test to demonstrate their skills
