“Gabel” has been a symbol of house in our culture. Using “gable” as the module of geometry, this studio project aims to explore the possibility of creating new forms through emphy its existing meaning. Slice, rotate, and merge are three motions applied during the process of derivatization.Taking German opera composer Rhard Wagner’s idea of the total work of art, this studio also encour-ages a shift emphasis from the scope of a singular building to emcompassing a variety of scales - landscape, furniture, furnishings, and even clothing - in part to test the idea of materials and assemblage, but also to extend the ideal of design totality - a design of completeness.
