Objectives of the Conference
• Provide information on the University Application process • Provide Students with advice on Career advising • Match Personality traits with Degree options • Provide information on different Degree / Major options field
WWS Academy is a Hi Performance Academy that was started about 5 years ago with the objective of preparing talented youths from the Southern African countries for sporting opportunities in the USA for University.
Our Objectives:
• Scout and develop talent (Academic and Sporting development)• Link underprivileged talent with local scholarships in the best high schools
locally in order to expose them to better facilities and learning environments
• Link Elite talent with International platforms of performance (Penn Relays etc…)
• Link dedicated athletes to International training and development platforms and clinics
• Link talent that has been developed with Scholarship opportunities and other sporting opportunities internationally
Grouping:
At WWS we know the importance of competition. In this regard we rank and group athletes according to similar capabilities in sport so that Athletes of an elite level are not grouped with athletes who are still developing on the basic level and vice versa.
In this case we are not discouraging the beginner or not so advanced talented athlete but we are giving each athlete the opportunity to grow and advance at their own level without slowing down or speeding up the process too much for the relevant athletes in their sports.
Many athletes are of different skill
levels and skill sets and it is through grouping that we ensure that all athletes develop fully at their own pace.
• Weekly training sessions during term
- Mostly designed for the student who is in their gap year before University after high school
• Training programmes
- Mostly designed for the athlete who attends school in a remote area who has not got access to ready transport or limited by proximity to our “Training centre”
• Monthly training sessions (Holidays)
- Designed for athletes who need to improve in their sport before the coming season and for athletes who are in the WWS Blue Academy
Objectives and benefits:
• Travel and compete in International competitions • Travel and compete in International Sports Festivals• Travel and participate in International Sports Clinics • Athletes and Coaches chance to meet and be coached by
International Coaches• Athletes and Coaches chance to meet sporting legends • Chance to compete internationally

Explanation of Model
1. Final camp in South Africa with AC Milan officials and coaches for selection of players to go to Milan for Milan Junior Camp
• Athletes put through fitness and other sports tests • Athletes made to play mini games • Athletes made to do special AC Milan specific soccer drills

• Crème of African Talent play in a two day tournament in front of USA University Coaches and scouts
• International University Coaches and Scouts will identify potential athletes that they want to offer scholarship opportunities to their respective Universities

• Athletes from South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Angola, Botswana were present
• 25 kids earned Scholarships to USA Universities (UNC, U Pitt, Penn State, Hofstra, George Mason to name a few)
• Guests from 2005 to 2010 included US Olympic Coach Sullivan, Former Altanta Falcons player Herman Venske, Asst Coach Dave Giffard (U Akron), Asst Coach Lynn Farquhar (U Richmond)
• Event was televised to over 300 million viewers on the Super Sport Channel in Africa
• Event was covered by BBC Sports Radio
