#MyStartupStory

Write or Read started as my NYU thesis

Write or Read started as my NYU thesis

Yay! Graduated!

It was a combination of my love of books

It was a combination of my love of books

Here are 853 of my favorites

And my fascination with digital publishing

I was an e-book developer for Simon & Schuster, NBC Publishing, and The Experiment Publishing

And my fascination with digital publishing

Then I started self-publishing

But I was frustrated with the lack of data

But I was frustrated with the lack of data

I only knew about sales, nothing about my readers or if they even finished my book

So I decided to combine reading, analytics, and indie e-book publishing…

in to Write or Read!

Authors upload their e-books, and get insights about their readers and their stories

WoR is an HTML5 web app, so readers can subscribe and access our books anywhere

WoR is an HTML5 web app, so readers can subscribe and access our books anywhere

On other sites, readers just buy the right to license the e-books anyway

Bonus!

Readers get reader units, which gives them flexibility to read however many pages they want, instead of being stuck with a

book they may not like

With Write or Read we can start a movement, one where authors and readers have a closer, more direct connection. We don’t want to simply collect data, we want to share our information so we all can learn and use that knowledge to make better books.
