On the first two pages of our bulletin, you’ll find our Highlight of the Week and information about Worship and
Sacraments at St. Vincent de Paul. The Highlight is a featured space to give more details about a particular ministry or
event. In the Worship & Sacraments section, we introduce the readings for the upcoming week and include articles about the
various Sacraments celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul. The Seven Sacraments are the outward signs instituted by Christ to give grace to us, and therefore are vital to the
life of our parish. These pages also include a
calendar of parish events for the upcoming week.

The number of dead branches on these
bushes and trees requires their removal
this spring/summer. It was first considered
to prune them, but observed closely, were
observed to be too unhealthy. This will
also improve visibility and traffic safety.

Our Gifts of Gratitude
Let’s Stay in Touch! If you have moved, changed your
phone number, name, or have a new e-mail address, please call the parish office at 763-425-2210 or send us an
email at churchinfo@saintvdp.org so that we can update our records. This also helps the church
save money on postage. Thank you!
Here are some words preached in a homily
by the late Cardinal John O’Connor:
“She’s a startlingly beautiful bride, but
she is deformed, disfigured with the
wounds, with the scars of Christ
Himself… ugly to those who do not know her as you know
her… She will be a consoling and a comforting bride,
but she will be an extraordinarily demanding bride.
She will lay down her life for you, but she will demand
your life in return.”
We’re entering peak wedding season here at St. Vincent
de Paul. You might think these words were preached at a
wedding. They were, instead, preached to a group of young
men at the Mass of their ordination to the priesthood.
Next Saturday, May 25, Archbishop Hebda will ordain
four new priests for our Archdiocese. Pray for them! May they
always love and honor, and lay down their lives for,
the Church which they take as their bride that day.

From our Pastor
Fr. Baker, we wish you the best as you
answer a new call from God and move
into your new role as Parochial Vicar at
Epiphany Church in Coon Rapids. It has
been wonderful to join our hearts with
yours in prayer these past two years.
We will miss seeing you around, but we
know you will continue to impact many
lives. We pray that God continues to bless you as you share your
talents with your new parish.
Steve Barnhart is retiring! As an incredi-
ble member of our staff for the last
18 years, Steve has shared his many
musical and creative talents to make our
liturgies flow beautifully. His personal
touches have had an impact on all who
have walked through our church doors.
Steve, we are grateful for all you have
done for us. You will be missed! We pray that God brings you
much happiness as you move into this next chapter of your life.
Steve will be around a bit this summer as he has graciously
offered to help with weekend Masses.
Please join us as we say “Thank You” and “Goodbye” to Fr. Baker and Steve Barnhart
after all the Masses June 1 & 2.
Light refreshments will be served.

The Fellowship & Faith Formation section of the
bulletin is where you can find opportunities to connect
with other parishioners through shared activities
for fellowship and spiritual growth. This is where you’ll
find information about upcoming social activities and
the various groups you are invited to join at our parish.
We categorize the activities by age group to make it
easier for you to find the opportunities that appeal to you.
You will also check this section when you want to
learn more about our Catholic faith. You can grow your
faith together with other parishioners through various Bible
studies, small prayer groups, speakers, retreats, classes,
and other activities for school-aged children, and much
more. Your presence is welcome and needed!

Confirmation 2019 100 youth from our parish received the Sacrament of
Confirmation at the Basilica of St. Mary on the evening on
May 2. Bishop John LeVoir of New Ulm presided
and delivered an inspiring homily to use their gifts from the
Holy Spirit to go make this world a more beautiful place!
Confirmation Candidates prepared for two years for this
moment and were blessed with a wonderful Mass as
they were sealed with the Holy Spirit in a powerful way!
Please pray for our newly Confirmed as they continue
their Faith journey, guided by the Holy Spirit.

Father of goodness and love, hear our prayers for
the sick members of our community and for all who
are in need. Amid mental and physical suffering
may they find consolation in your healing presence.
Show your mercy as you close wounds, cure illness,
make broken bodies whole, and free downcast
spirits. May these special people find lasting
health and deliverance, and so join us in thanking
you for all your gifts. We ask this through the Lord
Jesus who healed those who believed. Amen.
In the Prayer, Participation, & Generosity section
of our bulletin, you’ll find ways to fulfill God’s call to serve.
Consider this section your “Call to Action!”
Check these pages each weekend to find your opportunity to
serve God by serving others. Whether you serve with
prayer, donations, or the contribution of your time and talents,
each one of us can find a way to give.

The Worship ministry is looking for
volunteers to run the computer and
projector screens for the weekend
Liturgies. Training sessions are offered to
those who are willing to help in this
important ministry. You can be scheduled
for the Mass you normally attend.
Please contact Tony Freeman in the
parish office if interested or have any
questions.
