• Dictatorship--- Total control by one person or group. No personal freedoms

• Fascism--- A form of government that is extremely nationalistic. Property ownership is allowed but dissent is forbidden

• Nazism--- Hitler’s brand of Fascism. Leader chooses the property owners. Includes nationalism that becomes racism

• Third Reich--- Hitler’s third empire supposed to last 1,000 years, lasted 12.

• SS--- Hitler’s private army and bodyguards, greatly feared, operated the death camps.

• Gestapo--- German state secret police

• Isolationism--- Sealing off a country from the rest of the world ( not getting involved in world affairs). USA did this until 1941.

• Mein Kampf---Hitler’s book written in 1924 while in prison---details his plan for world domination
